Paranoia Agent was the one with Shonen Bat? If it is, it's awesome. FLCL...also on my to-download list I believe. Anime does run in seasons. There's three movies (the first movie was re-done and is said to be an alternate dimension, but it is pretty much the same as the first other than the graphics etc.) and two seasons. I believe it's movie 1, movie 2, season 1, movie 3, season 2. I could be wrong though, but it's on Wikipedia.

Also, I've been watching Umineko for a few hours now. It does turn out to be totally mindfucking and time/space travelling/switching and it even has Rika (with another name) of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. It's very interesting and has managed to confuse me just as much as Higurashi did back when I first watched it. I love it. :P

I think that's the right order for the GITS series, yeah.

I know the third movie does go between Stand Alone Complex and Stand Alone Complex Second Gig.

Yes, Parnoia Agent is the one with Shonnen Bat. I've been watching it online http://www.animecrazy.net/

I'd rather a dubbed version then a subbed version however I can't seem to find one. I know there is one cause... well the first time I saw the show was on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. I'm at episode.... 8? Yeah, one or two a day, that's how I do things.

Samurai X, and it's tv series.

Not really into anime, but I liked this anime because it was much less "OMGCUTE" and/or "OMGKILL" and had a main character with a very debatable moral standard, and wasn't some static douche bag character.

Bleach. Bleach is what's kept me going with anime. I haven't watched any others in a long time, except for Avatar: The Last Airbender and Pikachu.

Some I've watched and enjoyed:
Death Note (depressing)
Kyou Kara Maou (my first anime, started watching before it finished :) )
Clannad (thought provoking)
Fruits Basket (special)
D.N.Angel (awesome)

All special in their own way. :D

Technically, Avatar isn't anime, because it isn't from Japan.

Added to my list is:

Air TV ( incredible if you are a masochist, apparently i am?)
Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu
Berserk (big sword into someone's face awesome, more plot than i expected)
B Gata H Kei (awesome is you are a perv)
Ponyo
Angel Beats (awesome, but a little depressing)
Dragon Ball Z
Dragon Ball GT
Darker Than Black (Pretty awesome, not much closure, second season sucks)
Freedom (Looks like akira... with bikes, but add space and more awesome)
Golden Boy
Haibane Renmei (little known classic)
Initial D (another classic, with vrroooooom and phat beats)
Irresponsible Captain Tylor (classicy old schooly)
Ladies Vs Butlers (awesome if you are a perv)
Last Exile (steampunk!)
Macademi Wasshoi! (Awesome, but my eyes can't unsee episode 8, another perv anime)
Naruto
Naruto Shippuden (caught up)
Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt (zomgs!!!) http://www.whatsupwithanime.com/2011/01 ... arterbelt/
Petite Princess Yucie (i don't care if it was made for little girls, it was cute and awesome)
Seikon No Qwaser (magic powers through breast milk)
Soul Eater (One of those animes that could have had 10000 episodes but didn't, but should have)
Spice and Wolf (great series impossible to explain why, furries would like this too (im not one))
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (holy shit epic)
Welcome to the Space Show (A Masterpiece, also saw the first viewing of it to the public)

The second season wasn't that bad, it just felt pretty different from the first one.

Agreed. One of the truely original series.

Armulus Satchula wrote:Black Lagoon (they shoot down a helicopter with a torpedo!)

Just finished watching this. Liked it very much.

The second season might not have been that bad, but I hate it when characters completely change. I know Black Lagoon just had another season released. I need to watch that.

Back in MY day, anime was Tobor (Eighth Man), Speed Racer, Astroboy, Marine Boy, Gigantor, Kimba the White Lion.....bah, you kids today.... (the last time I watched anime was Star Blazers (Space Battleship Yamato), so it's been awhile. Unless you count the few seconds I can stand of my kids watching "Avatar, the Last Airbender" before going off to play on the computer. (OTOH, I do use Hare Hare Yukai as my ringtone, so... )

I don't think it was even referred to as anime back then and in the 90's anime from Japan was super hard to come by. I remember watching Dragon Ball GT in a 240x180 format in japanese, with some of the fansubs, but it ran at 1.5x speed. So everyone sounded like chipmunks. It was awfully awesome.

It wasn't. Back when I was a kid, it was simply "Japanese cartoons" and later it was "Japanese-style animation" or "limited animation". But by the time I got to college in 1980 it was indeed "anime". I think I first ran across the term at Boskone XVIII.

*grumblegrumble* Get off my cartoons, you young whippersnappers!

I think of Avatar as anime except American, which I think is cool. :P I actually do like it.
And I almost forgot about Dragonball and Dragonball Z. Those I actually watched on tv, and I think I watched nearly every episode too, if not every. That was back in middle school for me. I still think of Dragonball Z episodes as the classic case of episodes ending without much happening.

"Hey look, he's powering up his spirit bomb!"
Next time, on Dragonball Z..
"His spirit bomb's at 50%!"
Next time, on Dragonball Z..
"Frieza is at 61% power!"
Next time, on Dragonball Z..
"Over 9000!"

But I enjoyed the show. :D

The fastest thing I remember happening is Trunks killing Frieza with a sword.

Yeah I love Bleach as well as the Last Airbender series. The Avatar IS american invented and owned but illustrations I believe are outsourced to South Korea.

I'm also a fan of anime movies like:
-Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
-Ghost in the Shell
-Akira

^ Loved those movies, especially FF VII: Advent Children (well, I guess I'm a freak when it comes to any thing of Final Fantasy's stuff *shrugs*)

For the series, I really enjoy Ergo Proxy.
