SpongeBob Squarepants

Postby Ash » Fri Feb 11, 2005 10:46 pm

Who doesn't love him?

I think he's the greatest cartoon character of all time. He's worth over £500,000,000 too!

Has anyone seen the spongebob film?

Personally, I think he's overrated and most people like him (or say they do) because it's a fad.
Just because you're older, smarter, stronger, more talented... doesn't mean you're BETTER.

Let me second the passing fad comment.

I don't particularly see what there is about him.

He is funny sometimes. I can't see what is so great about him.

I have a college roommate buddy of mine who loves spongebob. I personally have never gotten what's so great about him. The show's by no means bad. It has stuff that even adults can laugh at. But I don't think he's the greatest thing ever.

I despise spongebob squarepants, cartoons like that I find irritatingly stupid, and feel that exposing children to them doesn't encourage them to develop the basis for the maturity they need in adulthood, and may even hinder it.

I just wanted to see the David Hasselhoff cameo 'cause the trailer made me laugh.

"Who are you?"
"I'm David Hasselhoff!"
"Hooray!!!"

Hooray indeed....

@Solfius: What cartoons have you seen that are meant to teach kids adult values? The only ones that I can think of are incredibly dumber and much less interesting than things like spongebob.

When I was a kid, I watched a cayote do everything under the sun to kill a road runner... this wasn't exactly preparing me for adulthood, but it was amusing to watch. Which is what I watch cartoons for anway: the amusement.

I haven't seen any cartoons that do that, I never watched many cartoons.

I did watch Blue Peter and Newsround though those are not cartoons

I love Aqua Teens: Hunger Force. Now those are some role-models to emulate! Go Meatwad, prevail!
