I'm a (recently converted) Apple/OS X user and am very happy with it..

In school where I mostly exercise my nerdiness we have Windows 2000 and at home we have... Win 95!!! It's nice and simple but doesn't look too ugly so why do they have to develop it further? Windows XP now ain't that the silly one where you can't change the colours?

Ubuntu Linux - works very smoothly for Cantr (which I access via the Firefox browser).

For some reason the forum ate my last option, which was BSD (other than OS X).

Linux is nice, but I'm starting to get the idea that it's just not going to cut it if you want real security and stability. *BSD is much better then. So far I've only had experience with FreeBSD, but it's very good...
If you have a chance, you really should try it, docs are pretty good as well, better than any other free OS I've ever seen.

Hmm.... I can't answer this poll-- it only allows one selection. I use WinXP and WinNT at work because I'm required to, Linux on my web and file servers, and Mac OSX for my main personal computer.

Mostly, I use Mac OSX by choise, and WinXP by requirement.

At work I use WinXP because I have no choice (though I have turned off most of the unnecessary prettiness and put on the "classic" desktop theme).

At home I use Ubunut Linux. By far the easiest Linux I've tried, and so much more secure and stable than Windows of any variety.

that's only if you don't have StyleXP.

I use WinXP, but I play around with it. Note the custom icons, the cool visual style (no stupid blue/green!) and the kickin' calendar/system stats.

I use XP, but honostly I frigging hate it. It's been dumbed down to the point where I can never find anything that I want to do. So it's off to the internet whenever something goes wrong, which is about twice a week. If there's one thing that I do more than play cantr it's fix up my computer so it can run as smooth as possible.

I use both Linux and WinXP. I'm a big Linux fan and I hate Microsoft, but I secretly really like WinXP ...

We don't seem to have many Linux users in Cantr:

Apart from a couple of days over Christmas, when I used my parents machine (currently Win98 but likely to be upgraded to Ubuntu Linux when they get broadband) I've only used Linux (with Firefox) to log in. My brother also plays, again mainly from Linux.

I'm wondering why it doesn't feature in those stats?

That's odd. You should have at least *some* hits from Linux, as stated in this thread. Are we too small a number to show up in the statistics?

Swymir, if you can afford it, then moving to the Apple platform sounds like a good idea

If not, try BSD sometime, have a look at http://www.freebsd.org and give it a spin.

I stopped using Windows for exactly that reason and it is saving me huge amounts of time. Granted, I had to take some time to install it all and get things running, but when you do, you're running smoothly without weird problems.

The program is called Rainlendar (and the box below it with systemstats in it is called Rainmeter). Both are heavily customizable (i'm using the 'rewind v 2' skin for the calendar/todo list, and the 'rewind' skin for the 'meter) and both are available at http://www.ipi.fi/~rainy/index.php

The stuff I was going to sell is mostly schoolbooks. Nothing exciting.

And something tells me that 75% of that 5% that's using Opera 7 is me
