Happy New Year everyone... Hope this one is better than last year... Last year was the worst I have ever had and I hope this one is alot less eventful... :)

Happy new year to everyone.

Darren told me to type:

May all of your characters live great lives...

We hope everyone has a great year.

Happy 2005 everyone! :D

Want to hear how I rang in my new year? It's interesting. My son will be 11 next month, so this is the first year he wanted to go do something with his friends. I've partied since I was 13 so staying home was not a loss. I gave him a ride to his destination and spent a quiet night at home, drinking wine, and cleaning the kitchen. I picked him up shortly after midnight, brought him home and we sat up for a bit while he told me about his night. I tucked him in bed and said goodnight, walked to my room, sat down at the computer, and thought, "life is good.."

Then I heard a crash and the sound of glass breaking.

I went back to his room and asked if he heard it, he had, he handed me the baseball bat next to his bed and pulled a hammer out of somewhere and stuck it under his pillow [he's a funny well prepared kid] I went through the house slowly and saw nothing out of the ordinary. I thought everything was o.k., but checked out my front window again, while peeking through the blinds, I saw a crack in my window, the crack lead to a big whole in the front of it. Terror and war mode sank in as I ran through the house turning off all my lights, preparing myself mentally to smash someone with the bat. I called 911 and the cops were here instantly. As they were here talking to me they got another call that it had happened again, right around the corner from our house, a few streets down though. Apparently it was vandals.

My front window is 6 ft wide, 5 ft tall, and about 90 years old. Glass cost 5 cents when this thing was built, I'm guessing it's going to be about 5,000 dollars to replace it here in the year 2005. Thank God, I had the good sense to get renters insurance. I think I'll only have to pay a decuctable of about 500. Which is not fun, but way better then 5000. Since it's the holiday weekened, it can't even start to get fixed until Monday.

As I was cutting cardboard and taping it to the window, I couldn't help but still count my blessings. Everybody's life can't always go well, bad things have to happen, and if this window is the worst of my troubles, then i am truly blessed. I prayed for the boy who did it and asked god to comfort him, because, if he's out doing things like that, he needs the lords love wayyyy more then I do at the moment.

So, that's how I started the new year. lol. But that's o.k., as I sit here in my warm house, with food and clothing, I'm still blessed. Just to have those things. I just have a hole in my window now, that's all... Haha..

Love to all my Cantr friends, wishing your year to be full of blessings,

Chrissy

p.s. On a funny note, I had just typed a sentence in Cantr when it happened... In the darkness, bat in hand, I thought.. "oh shoot... my minutes...." I krept back in my room and logged myself out. Haha...

What was so terrible about last year you ask? I know that several people on here already know about it but here it goes... First off I am going to start by stating that I am married.. Not happily unfortunately.. Not that people really want to know that but hey figured I would put it out there anyways.. I have 3 beautiful children, 6,4, and 2.. another one was added into the equation May 27... He made my 4th child 3 boys and my 4 year old being my only girl.. Well tragedy hit July 6.. 1 month 9 days after he was born, he passed away.. All they could state was that he died of SIDS.. If you don't know what that is.. It just means that there was no reason that they could find for him passing away.. I miss him very much but I also know that he is in a better place now... *smiles* What else is so bad... I got fired from my job for being late, my husband wrecked his truck and now we are down to one vehicle... MINE... the one that I need to use.. So anyone have a worse year?

Well that definitly puts my year into perspective.
My condolences, by the way. It is horrible for any parent to loose a child.

School seems like nothing now... wish I could say something, but I guess I really hope this year, and rest of your life, is a lot better than that year.

I thank everyone for the condolences.. Really.. You have to understand that yes I do miss him and I always will but things happen for a reason.. Maybe he was just supposed to touch our lives for a little bit... The way I think about things now are totally different than I used to.. There is a lesson to learn in every situation and I have learned a few from Andrew (which was his name) passing away... I cherish life as a whole.. I also know that there are things that I will be doing this year to make my life better... Nothing is ever easy, there is a cost for everything... I just hope I can do better this year than last... :)

My Mother in Law was diagnosed with melenoma, they removed it said she was ok, then nodules developed in her lung.....4 outta 5 were cancer...they again told her she would be ok.....this year they came back..and are growing faster and she is suffering from breathing problems (upon her fluid retention and chemo sickness).... my son rolled his truck and has fractured vertebrea... they say he should heal ok...I suffered kidney stones with ureter blockages twice wound up in the hospital, My husband was diagnosed with diabetes, which is now under control........but I too lost a child, (many years ago) and it was before birth, so I can only somewhat understand the pain, and I do understand about learning from the experiences in our lives. Good friends can always help us through....... But I myself did manage to survive the year and that is a bonus...no mater what else happen
