Although I have yet to find another game like Cantr, there are a few good games you can play when (and only when) your minutes run out.

http://www.injustice.net.nz
-A little different from your standard mafia game, to get far you really need to be social.

http://www.mars-project.com/
-Kinda fun. Not much to it really. Just building and mining and...welll...yeah.

http://www2.kingdomofloathing.com/login.php
-Quite a funny game. I am currently playing a level 13 Pastamancer, weilding a titanium assault umbrella.

http://www.republic-online.net/index.php?signout=true
-Well, this one is quite boring really.

Yeah, it is a bit dull.

Oh and in latest news...Injustice is no longer running. It died just today due to time and money constraints.

I dislike a game that takes 1/2 an hour to download enough to tell me my graphics card can't handle all their open GL $h!t
Reality was never my strong point.

Wurm online looked nice... I checked their site. O_o Almost what I imagined a visual Cantr to look like, but different...
There are five computers in my house that connect to the internet. None of them have the right graphics card driver. :x (And yes, I did try to download and run that game...)
This is almost as dissappointing as the time when I bounced around the house for a month, waiting for WoW to come out. Then the first day it came out, I bought it. And then I found out one computer needs a different graphics card, another would need a newer operating system... Blah.

So no go on any Cantr-like games? teehee, that was odd sounding... sonogo....

Anyway, dangit! I've been running all over the net, browsing through search pages, avoiding all the porn sites that they throw in the searches, and nothing. Absolutely NUH-THING. It sucks.

I need a hug now. :(

Well yo can always do what I do when I run out of internet games to play and events on Cantr to read. Play poker. It's fun and profittable. (I'm talking Real-life her, not internet I don't like playing with people I can't read)

Hell yeah it is, I just learned out to play Texas hold'em the other night and cleaned house :D , I think they forgot that just because I didn't know how to play TH didn't mean I don't know how to play most other forms of poker

I have played, and still do play, Kingdom of Loathing. I loved that game, it is funny.

But I haven't played it a lot lately. Jick (The creator guy) promiced a reset, in January... 2004... that has YET to happen. So, yeah, I'm not really playing it that much, because I'm bored with it. I'm a level 26 Accordian Thief, oh yeah, my account number in the 300's, and with people signing up in the 20,000's, that says something :D

Another good game (Not Cantr like in a social aspect, but Cantr like in a 'do what you want' aspect) is Forlorn Hope: Online. I used to staff for them, as their Manual writer, and as a moderator and game-master. I left, however (Although I go back every few months for a day or so, just to check up on things.) because if you don't know anyone in the game, it gets... boring. You end up not having a reason to play. But it's a very VERY large (And steep learning curve!) game, RPG medieval style, graphical, and such. I've made many 1sts on FH:O, like... first player run city, and first player run business, and... I think first person to stay online for over 100 hours (Yeah, hehe, I was addicted at that time.) - No matter, www.forlornonline.com - If you do sign up or something, use referral number 30 (That's my account number. Yet again, I reitterate my point, I'm account 30, while accounts being made now are in the... hmm... 40000s...? I don't know.) - Referrals get you like, a month free of paid time (The game is free, however, a map, some features, and other things require you to have a paid account. But the game is 98% there with a free account.) or something. I don't have to worry about that. Because I was staff, I have a paid account that will never be deleted. Rwar. That's generosity. So referrals to me mean nothing, however, I just like to get them, to show off who I've send to FH:O :P

And of course, if you're into the social RPG type game, there's www.furcadia.com - Yeah, umm, you're an animal... and it's a graphical chatroom. You either have to be high, or desprite, to join this game. There are usually 2000 people on at any time now-a-days (Yet AGAIN, I joined when the game first started, so... yeah... back then it used to be 20 people, max. Now it's 2000 to 3000.) - there are maps specially created for role playing, which is Cantr like role playing (Type your responces), but if you like bot type role playing (You attack a snail for 4 damage!) there are several programmed maps and bots that will suit your fancy. If you can get away from the childish and creepy animal look, Furcadia might be cool. Oh, and I'm staff of it too. Beekin, as they call it. Channeler. Which is high-up guy that knows all about Furcadia. So if ya need help, ask me. I'm a retired Mason too. Masons are Dreamweavers. Which mean... we're good at making dreams. A dream is a map. In Furcadia, you can make your own levels, code them, and upload them. Quite simple (For some, trust me, some people are idiots when it comes to coding. They make the silliest code. "When a furre walks into (5,50) - move the triggering furre to (5,50) if no one is already there." - Okay, that's COUNTER PRODUCTIVE. They already moved there. Geez.)

No matter.

Most MUDs are admittedly of the magic ilk, there are some rather interesting ones that I've come across.
4D is one that sticks in my mind, it covers several different time periods, pre-historic, medieval, modern which also has a western area and of course the future.
You can have your own vehicles and homes, quite a bit of room for expansion and there's an optional RP adjustment it has certain penalties such as always being in character but gives you bonuses as well. Course you can just HnS.

Next is Desolation, it's in the theme of Wasteland if any of you remember that old thing. It's a bit more general now, undergone some major changes recently and it isn't a bad place assuming you feel comfortable with the members. Do note that the ability to use capitals is a must, otherwise they'll just eat you alive.
RP is a little lax really, only way to solve that is greater player numbers but it isn't really a friendly place. Actually I lie it isn't really that bad, you might as well give it a try.
