A few of you may have already heard of Audioscrobbler, or may even already use it. Most of you, though, won't.

http://www.audioscrobbler.com/

Take a look. It's a website that compiles listening data via a plugin for whatever your favourite music player on your computer is. Any of you that listen to music on your PC (or mac, if applicable...), whether from CDs or from ripped audio files (the plugin can't tell the difference, if you were wondering...), may be interested in this. You, and your friends, can easily see what you're listening to right now, and what you've listened to in the past. You can also add friends to your profile, and easily keep track of what they like.

You can also create and join groups, so you can see what the group has been listening to as a whole. Which brings me onto our second link...

Yes, that's right. Jos has created a Cantr II group for us all to join. It's drastically skewed to my tastes in music, at the moment, because I've got over 2500 track plays recorded on my profile, while Jos has barely reached 100...

We can't let it be only my music! So come on, sign up to Audioscrobbler, download the plugin for your favourite music players (instructions can be found on the site), and join the cantr group! Overwhelm my music!

I'd like to join but they don't have a plugin for Jukebox... :-(

They do have a plugin for Quintessential Player though, so I'll try that one. I joined the Cantr group, in any event.

This sounds cool, I'll check it out on my next day off.

Maybe I will, I went to take a look real quick before leaving for work and neither of the links seem to work and I can't even get to it by manually typing the address in. Maybe it'll work later, I'll try it tonight.

EDIT: Right, the Audioscrobbler site is back up and ploughing through it's queues of track submissions. About 52000 left, last I looked, and more maybe being submitted.

And my music still seems to be dominating the group... Come on, people, listen to more music! =P

There's 9 members in the cantr II group so far. I'm sure we can more than double that by the end of the week...
