The earliest of the series that my library has is "Men at Arms." Is this the 1st?

First two written were Colour of Magic, then Light Fantastic. I think Mort may be the 4th.

There are 14 Discworld books prior to ‘Men at Arms’…the earliest is ‘The Colour of Magic’ which I can remember buying back in the good ole days of 1984.
I haven’t read them for ages, but I’m currently trying to find some of the older ones to introduce my daughter to them.
The early ones can be hard to get, although there is an omnibus edition of the first 2 Discworld books, which I’ve seen around from time to time.
I think there are over 30 Discworld titles in total, plus some that he wrote specifically for children.

Though my introduction to the DW was through this book too. I think it gives a really nioce introduction the the world, it's setting and the most used characters. It introduces the members of the guard in Ankh Morpork and the Patrician. Though the colour of magic is about Rincewind (If I remember correctly) which still is my favourite character.
In my opinion there are 3 types of DW books.

Books that are about:
The witches in Lancre.
Rincewind. (+ the wizards).
Ank Morpork. (The guard, Sam Vimes and the patrician)

And some that cover either 2 of these groups or are a book on itself. (Small Gods, my favourite).

Terry wrwote some kids books aswell. I've read 2 of these:
The Carpet ppl (Rewritten edition of his first book published).
The Omen. (Co-written but hilarious)
And some more books like "Eric and...

Recently bought and read a sci-fi book from TP. Nice, but not as good as his other books, not by far)

I think there's a fourth kind too. The ones about Death. He's my favorite character... Personally I think Theif of time was one of the best, maybe just because the concept of killing with chocolate is strangely appealing. But Night Watch was an awesome, if not as funny, book too.

How could I have forgotten about Death!?

Ow. there's 3 DW games too. nr 1 is really ancient and cant get it running anymore. the second game is really hilarious and the looks aand feel are just right. Great game.
Nr 3, Noir was hard to get by, and generally sucks.

Games? I never know there were games... I knew there were cartoons, Soul Music was a funny cartoon... not quite as good as the book though, but where can you find the games?
