I dunno if this is really non-cantr related, but I decided to put it here anyway! When I go to public computers, or like, anything you can type words in that's visible publicly, and not illegal, I always put www.cantr.net on all the comps, or even those dog tag makers at walmart. I've been doing this my whole trip through the states, so if anyone joins cuz of it, tell me who they are!

The German Esperanto Youth organisation has put up a link to Cantr on their official site: http://www.esperanto.de/dej/verweise.htm

Let's hope that this will encourage more Esperantists to join :-)

Every computer I use I check Cantr on.

By the way, I'm working on a Cantr desktop picture. Watch out for it on the forums. ;)

I make sure to post topics about it in the forums of other online games I play and to keep them updated so people will get interested.

Almost all critique about Cantr is always that they think it looks so boring because of the graphics that they don't even give the game a chance...and I think they have a point.
The start page looks really boring...

Suggestions for a better start page? :)

Some kind of image would help.
I'm sure there are lots of artistic players who would like to design a Cantr welcome picture :)

You could announce in Cantr that you are going to hold a competition where people can post their images in the forum. It won't only keep us Cantr addicts busy, it may also draw some new people to the forum...and fresh ideas are always nice.

I don't think the green background color is appreciated by all newcomers either, but it has kind of become the trademark for Cantr so I think it should stay

Do you think, an excellently graphical start page would promise more than Cantr can hold?

Considering there is no pictures in Cantr, it wouldn't really make sense to have a picture on the front.
Why not a logo for Cantr? Instead of the bold white "Cantr II" at the top of the page, there could be some sort of kick ass logo....

Images of maps are certainly attention getters for RPers, as they advertise adventure, discovery, possibility, etc. But, if we put a map image on the front page, it should be as authentic to Cantr as possible without revealing info to even the veteran players.

I bet Jos has a graphical map stored somewhere for an island that he never used and never plans to use, but "looks" like Cantr land.

I'd also bet there's one player who has so many images stored, that he or she could piece together a fake map and e-mail it to the New Lands department, who can check it to make sure it doesn't resemble any actual island(s).

Also, instead of the solid green background, perhaps a faint or transparent version of one of the pic images that accompany the map images in game for a location type could add substance to the main page. I'm particularly thinking of the pic for desert locations, since it has a perfect space in the sky part of the pic to put the name "Cantr II" and also a catch phrase if desired. Then, the map created for the main page could overlay part of the sand.

These things would stimulate a potential player's imagination about what the game might have in store, but would not be teasing with something they can't actually find in the game.
