I definitely played Razer Ghul, who thought the world of Erin and had a distinctive brogue -- though the Irish would probably shudder to hear it attributed to them.

I don't specifically remember Rosemary, but I did enjoy playing the odd mean ship's captain from time to time. Sounds a bit familiar, though I may just as easily have been a fellow victim.

I played Little John in Doryiskom, you might have known him.

I don't remember a lot of my characters from then either...

Can I tell you a secret? Even though I forgot his name, Razer Ghul was my all time favorite Cantr character. And poor Erin was more than a little disappointed that he loved that other girl instead of her. Just imagine if Erin and Razer had fallen in love and then, maybe, taken over Karnon Forest. They could have done it. She had the power and he had the fire and the way with words. The whole history of that region would have been completely different. Erin was building a ship named for Razer at the seaside when he so rashly attacked Nicki back in the forest. I can't remember what happened to Razer after that. Did Nicki kill him?

Also, the captain I'm thinking of was the one who went to war against the Blackrock Tribe after they moved to that other island. I guess they were the Black Wolves or something by then. Rosemary was part of the tribe and virtually the last living member who was still awake after Nicki was killed and the invaders were about to land. She tried to flee on a ship but the evil captain caught her and executed her because she wouldn't give up her shield and weapon. I thought he might be you because he was also rped so well and had an amazing accent of some kind.

Anyway, so glad someone is willing to say more than two words to me. Lovely to hear from you.

I can honestly say I never really encountered the Blackrocks again, from within or without, after my two charries from the area were gone. So your ship's captain was played by someone else.

Razer, though... probably also my favorite, though a couple others are up there. Blackrock Forest was where I really learned how fun Cantr could be. There were a ton of interesting characters there -- Nick, Buzz, Erin, Stylez, the two young ones Razer married whose names I know forget, even though I remember who played one of them -- and those are just a few of about two dozen that made that place special.

Razer really liked Erin a lot and admired her energy and the way she kept that place going... and made that clear too I think. But he always felt that while Erin liked him, she didn't really *like* him as it were. She was just a tad bit standoffish, and I thought you played her that way on purpose, and played her that way very well. I think he found out later that she felt different and was pretty surprised, but too late.

Sada was... not standoffish. That's probably the strongest connection I ever had with another character, and just when they were getting together, I up and got Razer killed. Lots of reasons for that...

Razer was honestly appalled that Nick had killed a fellow Blackrock, one he liked (the cook?) and lied about it. So that was true in-char stuff. But I also had another char in Blackrock Forest and was kind of being told, gently, that they had to be separated, even though the other one stayed inside blacksmithing all the time and never ever came outside. Anyway I couldn't figure out how to separate them and when the obvious motivation for Razer came up I took it, perhaps not thinking through all the way what it would mean to lose him -- I was still early in Cantr and didn't realize how rare that kind of char and experience can be. Finally, that brogue was pure exhausting, it did be tirin' if ye take my meanin', may it do ya well. Though I've since done other chars since with similarly tiring patterns of speech.

I don't think he ever would have joined Erin in taking over though. He didn't want to take over, and he was loyal to Nick until he felt like the Tribe was betrayed.

There's more than two words for you, far more than a pretend thing from seven years ago probably merits, but it was great and one of the best times I had playing the game and probably why I still come back from time to time searching for it.

Oh, my, I learned some new things, there. I didn't know that Razer married two girls. I guess they all ran away from the forest, then, and Nicki was too busy to chase them? How did he die?

Also, I never new why Razer attacked Nicki. I think Erin asked Nicki but he was evasive.

Erin started out as the librarian but no one ever came into the library so she went outside and started organizing the tribe and the town because she was a compulsive organizer (just like me). I think she was sort of aloof because Nicki would have never accepted her having a romance with someone else (even though they weren't involved). Nicki Blackrock was her leader but she didn't really agree with his violent ways and actually convinced him to leave the island to avoid the coming warfare. Since Erin died soon after they launched their ships to leave, Nicki just went crazy and killed everybody they met, I guess, leading to the great war that all but wiped out the Blackrocks.

What a great time it was. No other place or time in Cantr ever compared to it for me. It was like ancient Greece and Camelot mushed together.

Thanks for making the part in Karnon (Blackrock) Forest so fun and interesting. You wouldn't believe how boring it was when my first character, Dismai Inala-Lusa, was created there. She changed the whole island but nobody ever seemed to recognize it. They always thought Nicki was the one in charge.

The captain's name you're looking for was Andur O'Shan.

Razer didn't marry two girls. He never married at all really, but he was very close to Sada indeed. I remember Erin being jealous about that, but also being very surprised by that because as you note, she was aloof. Nice, but aloof.

When I said he married the two young ones -- a man and a woman -- I meant that he officiated at the wedding, not that he was getting married to one or both of them. I don't remember their names, but 3shyof30rats played the girl.

Why did he attack Nick? There was a cook, I think his name started with J although that's all I can remember... he fell asleep basically and he was holding a ton of cooked meat, tools, maybe keys, etc. Nick basically had him murdered to recover all the stuff, but lied about why and said he died of natural causes or something. Razer found out about it, thought it was pretty low down and that a confirmed and longtime Blackrock didn't deserve such. And I think Razer was slightly disillusioned with Nick's pretty brutal leadership and lies by that point.

That's about as well as I remember it... I don't have any records of that time.

Razer got a permanent memorial to his name. More than Nick got.

Andur O'Shan was a pretty awesome character even though I hated him.

God, I hate looking back at my posts and seeing spelling and grammar mistakes. I am literate, I swear.

Amen to that. The game needs all the good players it can get. And it doesn't have to be all consuming. I'm just sticking with two characters at the moment, so it's easy to keep up without having it take over.

Wait, what happened to Karnon Forest?

I realized my last character who spent any time there was Rick O'Shea, the first Sheriff, and he died in, what, 800?

So I'm a little behind the times.

Karnon Forest is a bit like Israel in that different groups have fought for control over it over a long period of time. TBR, the Order of the Guardians, Firecam, Blue family, etc

I know you were. But I started aged 17 as well, so I couldn't let that go without some kind of comment!

Jon always was a bit touchy. If you mention Hobbes or Locke, he'll probably come back.

I was going to let that one sit for a decade, but sheltering in place if suited to nothing else is best for figuring a retort.
