At about this time in December 2004 (day 1056 on the Cantr calendar, I believe) I discovered the green screen of fascination while killing time on Christmas/New Year break. I had been craving roleplaying and found that this little gem of creative genius from Jos and his comrades fit the bill. It became even more special when my third spawned character, Silas McElroy, met Jaina Valjean in the sleepy little seaside village of Kiii. He had taken to singing songs about papayas to ward off the sleeping sickness, and she responded with sarcasm. The interaction was adorable to me, even more so after I got to know the clever mastermind behind the sassy character, known to all here as SekoETC. Silas was unfortunately stolen from us by pirates, but we were lucky enough to have Chauncey Gardner and Bessie Rae Monaghan find each other in Lake Village.
Through the game, these forums, the IRC channel, to YIM and then eventually a long airplane ride from America to Finland we evolved from internet acquaintances to friends to best friends and today (unless calamity strikes in the next 3.5 hours) to husband and wife. Thus I chose the likely confusing title of this thread, the Finnish word for "I do". Cantr has brought me hours of enjoyment, hours of frustration, but more importantly the love of my life.
So if you don't mind, please don't bother her characters too much today because I'd selfishly like her undivided attention.
