Internet, a wonderful place where people forget to be shy, allow themselves to approuch others and sometimes, just sometimes say or do really strange things when chatting with you.

For instance, right now, as I type this up, there is a fairly normal guy from India chatting with me. This guy seems very normal, and I am therfore not ignoring him, but giving him a chance to brush up on his english typing skills. he or she? seems nice and therefore i will chat.

However, many times, it starts like that and turns ugly fast. Why is it, do you all think, that some people ask you questions they would never ask a total stranger face to face?I would never walk up to some random person on the street whos "picture" i thought was good and say
"hey baby wanna cyber?"

but that is what people do online. they see a profile with a pic, think its good looking and tackle you via i.m. if some guy came up to me on the street and said to me...

"your hot, lets go bounce some bedsprings" i would slap him.

Back to this nice guy i am chatting with right now, he IS picking up on me... go figure. he keeps telling me how "sweet" my name is. maybe he doesnt understand the cultural differences... he hasnt gotten wierd yet, so i am not ignoring him.... yet.

Oh, he asked that ever difficult question.... "are you married"

what to say what to say???? truth.. hahaha "not married but very happy with someone else."

so he changes attitude a bit, what do i do for a living? where do i work...

these questions can be totally innocent, or they can be translated as "may i be a stalker?"

lets still assume he is innocent and a normal guy from some other country ok? he seems interested in learning about some american girl. thats fine.

"tell me something about yourself?" he asks....

I have horses... thats safe to say, no give aways there.

ok, he isnt normal, he wants a pic or to see a webcam now... men. i swear! i tell him i have no web cam and do not give out pics via the net...

he changes topic for all of 2 lines then asks...
"so tell me how i can watch you."

i tell him he may not watch me and he says ok. thanks for the chat and goodbye... oh, and he wants to add me to the friends list...lol

oh, it keeps going... he said goodbye right? and then he asked me if i have a boyfriend... didnt he ask something like that before????

and "am i at home? or work?"

so, tell me all about your wierd people on the net experiances.

I so recognised your dexcription of that chat. I've had that happen to me more times than I can count.

I mean, I have hooked up with guys from the net before (I even married one) but I would never ever ever start cybering with a guy chatting like that. It is so sad.

And I totally agree with the comparison with real life. Noone ever goes up to someone in a supermarket and say "what's you name? are you horny?"

Well I have never really had an odd conversation unless you count lots and lots of anger as an odd conversation, but I have never decided hey there is a girl and I say "BLARG ARE J00 HORNY!!!!!111oneoeoen"

Ah...yet one more reason to justify not chatting on the com with people I don't know. I have no strange stories to tell, because I don't carry on conversations with people I don't know on the com.

I don't even like talking to people I know over the phone, I like seeing the persons face whom I'm talking to, that's half the conversation.

Yeah that is how I feel. That is why when I accept instant messages from people I don't know I say hi ummm who are you? And if they say something I am familiar with I will talk.

No one ever tries to contact me. Then again I never really use chatrooms or instant messengers. I never been stalked before. Well, at least from my knowledge I have never been stalked before. How do you know you are being stalked? What do you do if you are being stalked? Do you shoot the person or wave hi?

I think those internet online dating services aren't really much of anything. It would be so easy to lie about who you are and what you look like. Plus, I don't have time with any relationships. I mean, I have Cantr and Firefly to worry about....

I practically only talk to my friends in first person/online/telephone. That includes a few Cantr Forumians, who are cool to talk to. And that perverted stalking crap is just wrong, just do the time tested *SMACKS* maneuver.

Havent been stalked i think, and havnt stalked anyone..... yet

being an ex chat junky i hjave many wonderful tales of weird things that have been said to me and to people i know. i've had every age from 13 to 70 try to crack onto me and get me to shag them till they can't stand up anymore. i've had guy's think i was a chick cause of my nik's and go straight to PM and ask me if i'd like to watch them jack off while they watch me live on cam. i've been offered cyber/phone/real sex more times then i can count by people who live on the other side of the planet it's not funny. and as for stalker's i've had none but a good friend of mine had one who sent her a loveley email saying he wanted to fill her feminine part's up with concrete and then smash the concrete to bit's with a sledgehammer.i've been sent pic's of people with all manner of body part's hanging out for everyone to see both male and female( i kept the one's of women ) been asked for nude pic's of myself ad been told i was a stuck up prick cause i refused to get naked and send em a pic of it. i've had people talk to me for hours and when i say i gotta go my wife is home been told i was a teain bastard and to never talk to them again when we where just talking about mundane everyday shit. i've had people tell me to back off when i've said hello to them . hell if it could happen online i've seen or know people it's happened too

Nope, whenever some random person I.M.s me it's more probable I'll freak them out and drive them away within a couple of minutes.
