It's a guilty pleasure...I think it's completely ridiculous...but I love it anyway.

While I can understand that and have a number of guilty pleasures myself, I reserve the right to mock you relentlessly for it anyway.

I see it as a male soap opera. I used to watch it when I was a kid purely for survival since my brother liked to try out the moves on me. It wasn't so theatrical (outside of the ring) back then.

I was working in a bar last night, and they had wrestling on one of the tvs. No audio. So my coworker and I were doing voice overs on the fly, and it was way too entertaining. I'll recommend it to anyone with nothing better to do while it's on.

That said, I used to follow wrastling when i was in my early teens. It was entertaining in a way that maury and judge judy are entertaining. Cheap thrills I guess.

I still watch it sometimes I was a big fan when The Rock was on it in the late 90's early 2000's.... It's of course, really just a male soap opera. It can be very entertaining despite being rediculously immature.

I love the arrogance of The Rock...... so hard to see it matched. I hope he stays back in a while.

Rockys back too! I, like a lot it seems, followed it as a teen and lost interest as I got older. Got Sky+ into the house over the summer and started recording the live Monday Night Raw etc. Great watching, drama and athleticism!

Being a bit older, I was a ric flair fan...it was like watching a stand-up comedian wrestle. When he was with the horsemen and the hulk had turned heel...It was funny to waste an hour immersed in it. I forget the name of the organization, they were bought out though. Eric Bischoff was the head of it iirc, and stars were DDP, sting etc. I just watched to see the Nature Boy. I would go into work the next day and me and a few other (all guys oddly enough) would run around the job yelling "wooo!", alot of fun. Fortunately we were in an environment where we could get away this.

WCW. That was the fun one.

I grew up in the early 80's with the WWF. Andre the Giant, King Kong Bundy, Hercules, Macho Man Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan with hair (I never liked him, because he cheated but was a good guy). Bobbie Hennan. Rowdy Roddy Piper. The Killer Bees and the British Bulldogs. Those were the days. Nothing like this crap on TV today. It's all about tits and drama, not a good wrestling match. The Undertaker was the last wrestler I really liked. After that was the steroid-fueled McMahon soap opera era.

BTW - I F&*king hate Ric Flair. You can take that WOOOOOO! and shove it where the sun don't shine.

Oh he was annoying, I agree with you Doug, I could just tell that he was enjoying himself. A former friend was working out in the gym in Kissimmee and Flair and a few others whom I cant recall anymore walked in to work out. The guy is in incredible shape...especially for being what...60's? He was still wrestling at the time and was an entertaining cheater at least.

I agree that the newer stuff doesn't really draw me...I think you decribed it well. But Flair was actually my second favorite since one of the funniest guys I ever saw wrassle was "Baron Von Rashke" (sp?) The guy was hilarious, goose stepping around the ring. As a young man, I just laughed so hard at him and he wasn't around when I moved south and learned to like flair. But you had to watch on those cold days up north or rainy days down here...remember that there were only 4 channels to choose from...maybe 5. It was either "meet the press" or "all star wrestling"...nowdays I would go for the press show. Must be a sign of aging.

But even in my inattentive teen years, I got some occasional enjoyment out of it.
