Uh, yeah. Not just borderlands(I was always Lilith, of course), but the entire fable series (I pre-ordered fable 3), Oblivion (can't wait till Skyrim comes out ooomgg!) and I so wish my original PS1 wasn't broken because I've been jonesing for some Silent Hill.
Assassin's Creed is <3 too. Why? It's the internet, doesn't everyone love videogames?

That's sorta hot in a nerdy way.

how come we don't have a seperate (active) thread to talk about videogames? I mean, I tried talking in the Oblivion one, but no one's ever in there or at least never says anything...
and yeah, I'm kind of a giant nerd. *shrugs* But then, isn't everyone else here as well?

OffT:
Nerds: People majorly into academics, arts, music, et cetera; usually awkward at a lot of other things like sports and carrying on normal conversations without the other person needing a college-level dictionary
Geeks: People majorly into math and computers and electronics in general, including video games.
Dorks: Dumb people.

Everybody has all three tendencies, but usually one masks the other two, though it's not uncommon to see people with strong tendencies in two directions.
Me, I'm a nerd (band!) with occasional geek tendencies.
Y'all who love discussing video games and whatnot, y'all are just geeks. :P
I'm surprised we don't have as many nerds playing Cantr (that I know of).

Before somebody else posts it (which I know they will if I don't):

Vladimir on southern Fu, you still never answered mine from, like, forever ago. At least give me some indication as to whether you're alive or dead...!

I can't wait for Skyrim either. Oblivion is aging, and it wasn't pretty when it came out. Not that I'm huge on graphics it's just that it's hard to get into any more, because I realize just HOW ugly everyone is. Especially the women, Bethesda really sucks at women, like every one of them is butt ugly, like they made the face generator to generate male faces only and then were like "Damn, we forgot the ladies." and just tacked on long hair.

And how everyone is so rigid when you speak to them, and how stupid the AI is, and how the combat was so eh compared to Morrowind. :(

Also eagerly awaiting what's next for the Dragon Age and Mass Effect series. I <3 Bioware, best writers in the industry over there.

Math would go in the nerd category, like acedemics.
Have you ever heard the terms Orch-dorks and band-geeks? Though in this case I think the choice of word is just what sounds best, not what it actually means.
Though actually Wikipedia says:
Wikipedia wrote:The word geek is a slang term, noting individuals as "a peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, etc.
Wiktionary wrote:geek: An expert in a technical field, particularly to do with computers" I was surprised to see this because I thought computer stuff (but not games) would be a nerd thing.
Wikipedia wrote:Nerd is a term often bearing a derogatory connotation or stereotype, that refers to a person who passionately pursues intellectual activities, esoteric knowledge, or other obscure interests that are age-inappropriate rather than engaging in more social or popular activities.
Wiktionary wrote:nerd: A person who, although having good technical or scientific skills, is introspective and generally introverted
I try to stick to wikipedia or wiktionary since it's more reliable (I can tell you why  ), however, Everest University posted this in a list of "common computer terms":
news.everestonline.edu wrote:Supposedly the term was coined in the 1940s at the Renssellear Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. It was meant to describe the opposite of a party person, aka, a drunk. The opposite of a “drunk” is a “knurd”—pronounced “nerd.”

Wiktionary, edited out a little wrote:A quirky, silly, socially inept person, or one who is out of touch with contemporary trends. Often confused with nerd and geek, but does not imply the same intelligence level

And I'm a running geek, so I've got a sports side too. :P

You're a butt, joshuamonkey.
But at least now I have my very own thread. :P
What's the nerdiest thing you've ever done?

That's not a nice word, phoenixannwn :( . To be honest, I was surprised at how far off topic the conversation had gotten. I'm sure others would have agreed to move it.
I don't know what would be the nerdiest thing I've done, but I often bring a book to a lot of places, in case I'll have extra time. In middle school I brought a book pretty much everwhere and would hide it in my jacket, which I wore pretty much everwhere. I've brought a book to a friends house (albeit ones I know very well), and to a movie theatre (with siblings).
I mix sports with nerdiness also, because in high school I often ran through the halls. According to one of my siblings I was known pretty well for that (by people I didn't know), although usually I wouldn't run if I saw someone I knew to a degree. I also run in many other instances. To me walking is simply slower and gives less exercise. I also walk very fast, unless I'm walking with someone.

Snake_byte, nice!

I guess by snickiedoo's definitions, I am also a geek/nerd (or is that nerd/geek? (And wait, is that geeky or nerdy of me that I am obsessing over the ordering of the terms? (Why, oh why, did someone decide to differentiate between designations over which there is such a wide overlap?))) I think I shall now translate the above into lojban. Of course, to do that, I shall have to first write a computer program to generate the parse tree of the English....
