Exams

Postby Surly » Mon Dec 06, 2010 9:14 pm

(This was going to be a rant of the day, but I decided it frustrated me enough for it's own thread).

So I'm 24. I am a university (college) graduate. I've sat exams every year of my life since I was 6. When I graduated 3 years ago, I was very happy at the thought of no more exams.

So why on earth did I go into a profession where I have to sit more exams!?

Now, I know we have had plenty of post-grad players in the past, and presumably plenty of people who sit professional exams. My question to these people is... why do we these things to ourselves! Argh...

Rant over. Anyone else still sitting exams in their mid-twenties?

Early twenties, but no less painful here.... Luckily one exam is a take home... Unluckily, it's been 6 out of 15 pages of hell so far.

Well, I've chosen the carrier path that means exams, exams, exams, almost to to the eternity. Gonna live with that and swear from time to time. ;)

1. Aren't you like 60 or something?
2. You have kids. That is one of Eleiris's life examinations, no?

Early twenties here...six papers and six projects, due this week. Oh, and three finals. So, your pain is felt.

Well, I am mid-late twenties, just finished graduation and I expect very little in the way exams in my future.

My mother on the other hand is in her 60's and is still doing them since she is going back to nursing.

Good for her!

I'm early 30's and have a couple exams I need to take career-wise. Certifications are important. Other than that, I still take college classes for the hell of it, so I have exams related to those courses too.

I'm past my twenties and not giving away more....

I haven't sat an exam in a long time (more then ten years) but had to sit one recently to pass an unsealed radiation sourcce handling course as legally required to do some new work we managed to hook. I was sweating and very stressed. I has a sleepless night before hand and couldn't eat. I had forgotten how bad it was.

I still have no idea what the big deal is about exams. I hardly studied for them and did very well. I have a big problem with concentrating. I can't study. Wonder how I would have done with being able to study. :D

Yeah, exams are fairly simple but I always worry that it will be harder then I am able. :)

It is project work that I have problems with since you have to put a certain amount of work no matter how easy it is.

Well, with my paper due tomorrow, and me still sifting through journals looking for some final sources and some motivation for bullshit, and it being 10:45 PM...

*he looks deep into the open word document* You and me baby. Oh, we're going all night. *cracks knuckles* Aaaaall night.
