Well, in Doug's defense, the subject matter isn't all that humorous as information released through Wikileaks is capable of causing significant collateral damage. They are irresponsible and IMO should be held accountable for any events that transpire due to their negligent leaking of information.

In the end, I'm extremely happy all this information came out. The government shouldn't be doing things that they know are wrong and then they try to cover it up. If you feel the need to hide things from your own people, then its probably wrong.
I couldn't give a crap about corporate leaks, but when leaks put lives at risk, like Wikileaks has done, that's inexcusable. Honestly, the US soldier charged with leaking all this stuff should be charged with treason, not mishandling classified information.
The things in these documents, for the most part, shouldn't have happened.
Yes I agree everyone involved should be charged. Maybe not treason, but i'm sure, in the end, there were countless laws broken. I also think the people in those documents should be made example of too.

Wikileaks takes freedom of information above the world safety. And it is bad in such cases... Maybe because they are left-wing minded they think it is for good.

That's so 50's. The communists this, the communists that...
Not everyone that opposes the US is a communist, you know?
And I don't see why anyone should give a crap about the lives of volunteer soldiers fighting an illegal war.
They wanted to be there, are trained to be there and get paid very very well for risking their life.

I think more-so people believe this could cause a war or increase in aggression. In I still believe its karma. What you say and do will eventually come back and bite you in the ass. I mean seriously... Someone actually created a document and marked it as private, that said Vladmir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev are like Batman and Robin. Why?

Ignorance is bliss
Yeah, of course stuff goes on that shouldn't - we are afterall the human race. I don't mind though, let it happen. Why? - because I'm safe and warm in my nice fluffy bed with my high speed internet access, money and food and, most importantly of all, I don't know about it.
Who the hell is wikileaks to ruin that for me????

The redpill.
We swallow the bluepill every time we turn on a TV on a news channel.
Let us have a choice, at least.

And you're getting on people because you wanted this thread to be 'funny'?
I would just as soon see this thing closed if it's just going to be used to make pointlessly inflammatory asshole statements...

RED. You see? Red = Commie! Too much red is not good, so better take light blue chill - pill this time.
Also... showing what one diplomat said about other person in private to other people, is like looking under people underwear and telling the others what you saw. The same. We not have to be super smart to know, that diplomacy is two or more face sides sometime, but showing such private secret notes to others is bad idea.
For 3rd, I think this topic should be moved to not Cantr related discussions, as 90% of it is not related to Cantr, and it is not my fault (I am not the person who created it here with such "funny" question.)Edit: Just for berserk9779, to stay in topic... Seriously I think he is too busy running before interpol and stealing new gov/corp secrets to care about some niche browser based game and play it. And I assume you did knew that, so I not understand why you asking and then think that people will stay on the topic.

Wikileaks is necessary. If my goverment can pat me down or see under my clothes, I sure as hell better be able to do that to them too.
And I'll add Assange is only CHARGED with rape Doug. You know with innocent until proven guilty and all.

But even if they look they not publish it about someone in most cases. For example in Poland even identify of suspect/convicted is hidden (you can only see his first name in news and first letter of 2nd name).

That's borderline offensive, but thank god for a sense of humor. Kill a commie for mommy,
do people say that still?

Yes, he does... he's played a spy, another char of his was a serial rapist, and yet another was the leader of the Holy Royal Imperial Republic of Schwabi Babi land on Fu, which only lasted from 1850 to 1870 as it was just him and a Polish newspawn who arrived from another location and promptly fell asleep to never wake up again.
[off-topic-mode]
Amazing how extremely polar the off-topiccers seem to go.
From "he's a saint for showing what goes on" to "anyone who wants honesty is a commie bastard"...
Well... tmy two cents on that...
1. He's wrong for willingly AND KNOWINGLY publishing material that might expose people in dangerous places/situations.
2. It's NOT him who PUT those people in those positions... for THAT, we again get to look at the rats he's exposing over the backs of those in the published documents.
So, in other words... yeah he's outing people who are already in hazardous situations as is... but he's not the one who put them there. How
about we either go after BOTH parties that are cauzing those people to be in harm's way, or we just remain quiet on it, eh?
Because if we nail it only on Desange, while not sticking it to those who sent people into harm's way in the first place, we'll be using double standards, which doesn't sound like something that belongs in the 21st century anymore (but which still happens in plenty of places anyhow).

do you think Assange plays Cantr?
This is a serious question? The man moves from one undisclosed location to another out of fear for his life (and of the authorities who want to arrest him for the women he's raped).
He's using a proxy silly.
