Anybody play? It's a pretty good game to play five minutes every other day.

I used to mantain a nation, but it struck me as a little bit silly. Well, to each his own. Though the United Nations was way sillier when they sent the administrator a cease-and-desist letter because of the "inadequate" use of their name.

Re: NationStates
It's all pretty tongue-in-cheek, but for political science nerds, it strikes a familiar chord. My nation is rated as "Capitalizt", which I'm decidedly proud of--should my decisions turn it into a "Corporate Police State", I'd feel more than a little authoritarian, beyond my philosophical inclinations. And so forth.
It's minimally rewarding, but it's also a minimal time investment--two issues to decide on per day, at the highest setting.

Libertarianism at it's best? Nasty. But I think I'll create myself a nation. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 99 million enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

Re: NationStates
There used to be a Cantr region but everybody went inactive except KEVEZ, who in turn was writing some sort of gibberish that was kinda creepy. The game gets boring after a while after the same decisions keep coming back.

This should be moved to Non-Forum Games, now that I know that that forum exists.

I used to play in a cantr region a long time ago there too. Does get boring after a while. Think we started playing that during another one of Cantr's downtimes.

Re: NationStates
I used to play NationStates years ago and then got bored of it.
If you want a similar society simulation game, try Ars Regendi. It has issues to decide for your nation, similar to NationStates. You can also change the government budget, implement reforms that make major society changes, fund projects for major technology advances, and take special actions as the nation's regent. It's a "spreadsheet game," which involves getting numbers like economic growth, unemployment, inflation, education level, happiness, etc. moving in the right direction. Once you get the hang of it, it takes only five minutes per day.

Re: NationStates
I played Ars Regendi a bit once, and I found it even more boring than NS... There was NS2, game much better than both of those, but went off-line.
If you looking for browser nation simulation games I can recommend CyberNations: http://www.cybernations.net/default.asp ... s%20Zavrey
I play it for 1452 days and it is quite interesting. If you register via my link there is small bonus for me after you play to get in-game strength of 5,000 or higher. You also will receive in this day happiness bonus as game say. I can also aid 2 new nations by sending them money, so they can build up their infrastructure, if they agree to send me technology for that later (technology is there much more cheep for new nations, so it is win-win). I have now 2 free foreign aid slots, and I will have next 2 in about 10 days when my 2 other tech deals will idle out. If you join you will also may be interested in joining in game alliance of 136 nations named Athens where I am 512 days.

Re: NationStates
Sorry for double post, but no one answered for so long.
There is something similar a bit, but not game, rather real life political test:
http://www.politicalcompass.org
So you can take the test on this page and then present results on graph like this one:

We could also make crowd chart if there will be many results using this link:
