Even when my heart is with Spain, Germany (who also is one of my favorite teams) looks very strong and most likely will take the cup back home this time.

Final game: Netherlands vs Germany :)

They sure look stronger so far, but that has helped little in many games in this tournament. :)

Crashblizz, there's a wide open window over there. Go for it.

I hate Spain and every Spanish people now. I thought Argentina, even though with a manager that is not a manager, had what it takes to get to the final. I'm with Germany now too, although I think Spain can cause a lot of trouble to them.

Do you know why Argentina has been eliminated? A selection that in average has the most expensive players?
Maybe you haven't heard of Brasil's (yes, with a friggin s, that's how you should spell it) and Argentina's football player industry. They collect them, give them basic training and then very important people from very important first world football enterprises come and pick them.
Messi left Argentina when he was like 15... We didn't know him, he became famous in Europe first. They export them younger every year.
How does this affect they're performance in the selection? Easy, they all play in different teams in different countries across Europe, and they only get together a few weeks before the championship, there's no way to set a team up in those conditions. Maradona didn't do that bad, and I respect the support he and the players had for the NGO "Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo" even though FIFA didn't approve it.
I hate effing FIFA, AFA and Julio Grondona, they're a bunch of criminals looking for they're own profit.

PS: I got a little carried away, if I'm out of line by the forum rules I'm sorry.

exactly the same is true about the german national players. they had a very short time to form a team.

i, personally, am not an expert for soccer, but a friend of mine pointed out that maradona sticks to an old playing style and just underrated the german team. maybe he only had in mind how they played 20 years ago.^^ and i guess you know that story of the press conference, where maradona left, because he didn't want to sit at a table with müller, who he'd mistaken for a ball boy? that's so arrogant... if he always behaves like that, this could have been the best reason for argentina to lose.
