Drinking Cold Coffee... Computer Games *more is bored*

Due to the nature of the Masonry Job I'm working on now... this rain makes it impossible to work... so I am sitting in front of my comp drinking cold coffee... a couple of games I think many here might like.

Imperialism by SSI, its an old but very well balanced good game, a turn-based strategy game that puts you in the seat as a 18-19th century European Imperial power, or random maps.

Tropico, another great game more recent, you are a Latin American Dictator circa 1940's to 1980's and have to balance foriegn policy between U.S./Russia, economy, and rebellions. It's a real-time strategy.

Anyone ever play these games?

I've played Tropico. Nice game, pretty realistic. I'm not much good at that type of game, though. For that matter, I'm not much good at any game.

Played tropico. Was kinda nice, but i din't have anything else to do then anyway. (Played it during my Achorwatch on board).

Got Tropico 2 too. Better graphics, nice music, but bores quickly.

I love strategy, never played imp tho. I'll check for a "link" soon tho...

SSi , thats the software manufacturer who creates all those strat games like "cossacks" etc. right?

Tropico, nice it was, yes. Played it years ago. I particularly liked the German voice of the advisor. 'Prrrrresidente...'. I loved it.
But it gets boring after a while, without offering new motivation to pick it up again.
Tropico 2, I was considering to look at it, but I'm currently not in the position to afford anything like that. ;)

That's why we have software piracy! And the "I'll pay for it when I can afford it" excuse! ...Not that I do that o_o;;;;

hehehe...I bought Tropico about a week before discovering Cantr. It's collecting dust in a closet or something, but I do remember liking the way the advisors and such buttered me up.

Imperialism is much more expansive and in depth than Tropico, graphics aren't as good, but that isn't what makes that type of game anyway... I figure I would share that title with you guys cause obviously if you play Cantr 3d effects aren't a big deal. :)

I have played both. I like any strategy games like that two titles. I like Civ series, CTP2, Alpha Centauri, Master of Orion 2. All of those are great strategy games.

Alpha Centauri? Yuk... I love all Civ's, but AC was terrible, the other one, (forgot the title) wasn't perfect either. :?

Anyone has Civ PTW? :D

I was told PTW was a crap game, and it was almost impossible to play online (the whole point) because it would constantly crash. Maybe they've patched it, but...

and I used to love Civ II.

What's so terrible about Alpha Centauri? It's one of the very few games, that I can take out every once in a while, and enjoy it. ;)

Let's all pray that I don't find my Civ 2 CD. I will never accomplish anything ever again. Yes, even y'ns. *points to atheists*

A Centurai was just an attempt to capitalize on the success of Civ II and SId Meier's name. It's not a horrible game, but it's just Civ with a new skin.
