Taste combinations

Postby SekoETC » Fri Jul 03, 2009 7:29 pm

Mention pairs of food ingredients you find to be an especially good match. Can be common or unusual since some things might be common on one region but uncommon on another.

Common ones here:

tomato and leek
tomato and cheese
tomato and parsley
dill and any fish
lemon and any fish
dark rye bread and salmon (much better than wheat bread and salmon)

Uncommon ones:

green grapes and parsley
coffee and buttermilk (I put coffee in a cup that had previously been used for buttermilk so there was just a bit on the bottom but it flavored the whole thing)

I think I had more but can't remember at the moment.

Chicken and Broccoli ALWAYS WORKS, especially with cheese and/or tomato (paste, pieces, etc).

Bacon on pizza

Cauliflower and eggs, usually scrambled. (Odd, I know but I like Cauliflower)

Baked Beans in spaghetti sauce

Mashed Lima beans and/or Mashed Dried Squash. (Might need pepper if no gravy is found.. great substitute for mashed potatoes. Squash CAN NOT be runny.)

Hah, that was my first thought, too.

(You should eat something though. No wonder you don't feel like doing anything.)

(PS Might be the heat though.)
