Hey all, this is a totally out-there question, but does anybody know Latin? I'm writing a creative work for school and one of my characters is educated enough to speak in Latin, but I, unfortunately, am not. I've been able to find some stock phrases on the intarwubz but they aren't enough.
Anyone?

Well, I know rudimentary Latin. And I have a syllabus right here.

Hmm... I dunno where the line for "rudimentary" is drawn as far as vocabulary goes, but what the hell. Here's what I'm working with:
"May love newly-sown grow tall."
"From the bottom of my heart, thank you!"
"Pull the ropes." (imperative)
"Bring me blood." (imperative)

If you need to you can use a random site like this one to pick and choose from.[/url]
EDIT: Eck, if you try to select something on that site, ads pop up. Just google latin quotes or something. That's what I did.

I did my best, but I wouldn't trust my translations too much.
"May love newly-sown grow tall.": "Crescit amor novus!" (The new love may grow... or something.)
"From the bottom of my heart, thank you!": "Ex fundo cordis gratias tibi/vobis (sing/pl) ago."
"Pull the ropes." (imperative): "Trahe/trahite (sing/pl) funes!"
"Bring me blood." (imperative): "Fer/ferte (sing/pl) mihi sanguinem!"

I was doing it in Word and I didn't save, hehe. But you win, anyhow.
