You can mention things you were afraid of when you were a kid or ones you're afraid of now.

When I was a kid, I was afraid of aliens and monsters and robots, especially ones that look like humans but can shape-shift or peel off the face and there's something unnatural behind.

I'm also afraid of needles and cutting, anything that pierces the skin. Scratching is okay but piercing/cutting is ewww. Also I dislike seeing items that are related to taking blood tests, like the pillow that rustles that they put under your arm, and the strap they put around your arm and the plastic box where they keep the strap and the test tubes where they put the blood and especially the needles. And the sterile packages. Actually hospital environment in general makes me nervous.

Plugging in electric appliances is also scary because sometimes there are blue sparks.

Then I'm afraid of dogs when they growl or bark angrily. I'm okay with them when they are friendly.

It's creepy if creatures have something weird in the eyes, like glowing or totally black or totally white or the black oil thing I saw in the X files.

Looking in the mirror when it's dark.

Creatures that look normal from behind but when they turn around, they have no face.

Maggots or other bugs that burst out of a person.

People bursting apart in general.

Getting skinned alive.

Many creepypasta stories like the one with the angel statue.

Movies: The Terminator series, Jurassic Park, MiB (when I was a kid, not anymore)

Episodes in TV series: Treehouse of Horror episodes in the Simpsons, especially the one with the fog that turns people inside out, the one that's a spoof of Nightmare on Elmstreet and the one where they all turn into vampires in the end. The second to last episode in the scifi series "Halfway Across the Galaxy and Turn Left" (I never saw the last one so for years I believed that the main character died). This one series about a boy who's in coma and adventures in another world, I found out online what the series was called but now I can't remember again.

When I was a kid I was afraid of the shadows at night. And I had bad dreams all the time. I used to be afraid of those silverfish insects too. I still think they're gross but they don't scare me.

I'm not really afraid of things anymore now. There are things that make me feel sick, but not really scared. Maybe... Hmm... Being all alone in the dark. That's what I hate. They don't have to be in the same room though. Just as long as there's someone around. Other than that not really. :S

I used to be afraid of sleeping because when I was young I had nightmares and night scares every single night, like endlessly. I woke up screaming and thrashing all the time. Caused myself a few injuries too.

Now my only problem is I have an extreme phobia of needles. I solved my nightmare problem easily. I've become more or less a vampire, and i never really sleep. Maybe two hours a day if that.

Dudel has an issue with clowns and the dark.

Dark because I have this fear of going blind which I got to experence with some meds once. It was the WORST 15 seconds of my life!


Clowns... not sure why just know I hate them and if one comes from behind me I get a little angry and aggressive. (Agro)

I used to hate the dark, but ever since I became an insomniac I've grown to love it. I'm effing terrified of needles, though. Last time I had a vaccination, they had to physically restrain me. And I'm afraid of knives near my wrists or ankles. Which is weird.

lol when I was younger I had to get bloodwork done, it took my mom, dad, brother and three or for nurses to hold me down, and I was a runty lil thing back then xD

The only thing that really freaks me out (or used to) are dead animals. Well, not butchered ones of course, but the ones that lie around outside decaying. I used to walk around them in a distance of at least two meters if I had the choice, even if it only was a mouse. It's got better though. I find decaying fish quite interesting by now but still have problems with other animals.

The first exposure I had to the concept of decaying corpses was when a dead cat was found under some bushes in my family's garden when I was about 10. The cat had been there for about 3 months and we had started to notice the smell and lots of flies in the garden, so we knew there was something. When we found the cat it was severeley infested with maggots, and the fact that its head had fallen off allowed me to see that its insides had gone green and it had a lot of maggots inside it, spilling from it. The smell was also very overpowering, so much so that I had to tie a cloth around my face while me and my brother used a shovel to put the cat into a black plastic bag to throw it over a wall into a heavily vegetated area.

The experience didn't exactly give me a phobia of necrosis... I regard the idea of them with some disgust, but I am also interested by the subject perhaps more than normal, that experience possibly owing to some of my interest.

What I do perhaps have a phobia of is fungus - in particular the smaller variety of mould that commonly grows on detritus or rotten food, but naturally I am also interested by that as well. My worst nightmare is possibly to be forced to consume something that is mouldy, or to have it growing on my body...

I find dead animals fascinating. When I was in the US, I was always pointing out roadkill and I was awfully excited about it. It's more rare here in Finland. Once I saw a dead hedgehog and it made me quite sad. I like hedgehogs.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one with a fear of needles.

It's also scary to be alone in my parents' house when I'm not at the computer. In my own place I know there are people around so it's usually not scary.

That kind of stuff is a bit freaky, I have to admit. At my place, I don't know if I'm alone or not, quite often, and I'm alert to every creak in the house, afraid that some crazy guy will jump out from behind a door and kill me...I'm paranoid, I know.

So you wouldn't eat camembert for instance, joo? Would shaving help?

My fear of dead animals probably originated when I picked up an interesting stick that looked liked a bird foot when I was a child. Guess what it was...

I always need some lights on when I'm alone at night/evening. Else I'll freak out watching every chair transform into an asassin.

Snakes. Three times now, I've almost stepped on (as in had my foot above, and had to stop myself) deadly snakes. DO NOT WANT.

In a similar vein but not as bad... sharks (one person was eaten the other day in our little city in Aust, even made it to the UK papers I see), they've spotted great whites at multiple locations every day since. UGH. Oh, and big spiders.. I have some stories about those, too!

I have a small fear of flying, I don't mind turbulence, it's the landing part mainly.. I get sweaty palms. Weird, as I fly probably ~10 times a year in everything from 20 seater planes to the big airbuses.

OH and the needle thing. Hate them so hard but can do it. Weirdly, I quite enjoy giving shots (maybe I should become a nurse?!), as I give my own to my horses.
