I actually get where you're coming.
When I'm coding on Windows I actually turn Aero either off or to opaque because for whatever reason it's distracting. I don't know why but I get less done with all the flashy shiz.

I'm not much for desktop shortcuts, as can be seen here.
This is my "fun" workspace at the moment, all the work-related stuff is on another workspace.

Newly acquired machine, newly installed operating system customised using
nLite. :3
My desktop will inevitably become cluttered with more scripts and programs, but for now it is serenely minimal.

Heh, yeah, well it would be a bit pointless to be running CantrSpy when I don't play, don't have an account to log in with,
and the server is down.

Edited in paint to remove character revealing stuff from my notepad. Cool thing is, that moon is part of my google desktop and changes daily to reflect the current state of the moon. Will be reposting next full moon.
And finally decided the only way to get my icons perfectly organized was to remove them, so they're all hidden. All the stuff I use is in the start menu anyway, and chrome gets bitchy when you try and minimize it. *shrug* The only time I see my desktop is when I go to bed. Then I just minimize my sidebar and my mom thinks its a screensaver. No touchy.

On closer inspection, I'm actually not sure. I think the Oracle was a redhead. Maybe.
