NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month

Postby notsure » Mon Oct 27, 2008 2:08 pm

Ever want to write a novel? Ever dream you could write one in 30 days? Join NaNoWriMo and try it out. You must complete a 50,000 word novel between November 1 and November 30. Go to the website (www.nanowrimo.com) to get more information.

It'll be my third year. The first year I wrote about a teenage girl going away from home to a summer camp, and last year I wrote a novel based on one of my Cantr charries. This year, well, I'm still deciding.

Good luck!

I'm curious if anyone (else) has written a substantial piece of literature about Cantr, and if so, please tell us more :)

I wish I could ever do something like Nanowrimo, but I am too much of a prewriter :D

I did write something about one of my characters, a detailed writing of his younger years (aka before twenty) and how he got the way he was. Of course, it didn't involve any of the characters that he had interacted with, kind of made my own up for the town, but it was quite fun.

Wasn't there something like this last July?
Notice how weak and petty we are / In the grand fixture we come afar / Hey we can't help it / No denying the prerequisite for love / Your very existence / You're the source of my substenance / Slow down take your time and feel the / Flow

This reminds me of those one-week roguelike competitions.

One of my non-Cantr Facebook friends is doing this. If I'd known about it sooner, I might've participated in it too.

I've done it 4 times (didn't "win" a single year, though), but this year I started too late and have too much else going on. Good luck, though, Andu!
curious

Hero wake up...
Hero doesn't know they are a hero...
Hero nearly gets killed in what they believe is a freak accident.
Villain curses Hero, behind hero's back.
Hero does some stupid shit and unwittingly fouls up villain's plans to destroy world.
Hero dies anyway.

twist:
Hero's love interest, knowing the truth declares it, and is banged up as insane. Bastard, resentful child is born... and inherent sequel commences.

Will this do?

I'm doing it again this year, but I'm way behind on my word production. About 8600 today.

A woman runs away from a horrible event, goes into hiding, will eventually be found. And maybe killed.

There ya go.

Yay! I finished at 53,436 words and it was early, even!!!

And the woman did die, tragically.
