Biden to drop out...
This isn't official or anything but rumor has it in the media world that Biden might drop out of the presidential race probably this coming Sunday. Not official and there are many that don't think it will happen but it will be interesting to see what does happen.

It most likely is but nevertheless some media outlets have begun reporting the rumor.
Pretty much the rumor goes like this: Biden is dropping out due to health issues which will be announced this coming Sunday after the debate. Some of the rumors do mention Hillary replacing him but like has been said already that would make Obama look desperate and most people will see through that farce.
All in all, it is probably a democratic trick to get Biden's name back in the media since Palin, especially with all the scandals surrounding her, has been all the talk. Remember that no news is bad news and bad news is good news in the world of politics.

You mean, "bad news is good news in the world of Democrat politics".
Democrats win if:
Iraq war failed
Economy fails
War on terror fails
Health care fails
Education fails
Anyway, what does that say about Obama's decision making skills if he decides to drop Biden? Everybody knew the guy was a gaffe-machine, so why didn't Obama pick Hillary?
He wanted all the glory and media coverage for himself, not split with Hillary.
Like Cantr, only better:

I haven't heard anything like this at all. I don't believe it; it's farcical. If it were true, it would mean he really does have "health issues", in which case we should be worried that Joe Biden is dying or something. But checking for health problems is an important part of the vetting process; remember Senator Eagleton.
Furthermore, Biden has not been a gaffe machine so far, ilumino, so that point isn't valid; as he hasn't made a significant gaffe, the media hasn't been focusing on his occasional gaffe in the past. And your assertion that Obama doesn't want to share the spotlight is entirely true, and a completely valid reason for picking Biden. Vice-Presidents are not meant to distract attention from the Presidential candidate, at least for a candidate as "exciting" (a word which in this case has both positive and negative connotations) as Obama. Furthermore, if Obama had chosen Hillary, we'd have three presidents in the White House if he were elected: Obama, Hillary, and Bill. I don't have anything against Hillary, but I think Bill proved quite conclusively he could not deal well with his wife being in office, as he would fly off the handle at random times if anyone dared attack her. (Hillary's response to the attacks was always much more appropriate)

Try the one where he said Hillary would have been a better pick then himself. If that isn't a gaffe, I don't know what is.
How about when he called Obama's ad on John McCain's computer skills, "terrible".
What about when he said FDR led the country when the markets fell before the great depression?
What about when he asked Senator Chuck Graham to stand up, when he is in a wheel chair?
Gaffe, gaffe, gaffe, gaffe.
Maybe the media hasn't been focusing on those gaffes because they are rooting for Obama. According to a recent Rasmussen poll, most people believe the media is helping Obama over McCain 5 to 1.

The media always helps the democrat candidate, because the media in America is most of the time extremely left.
When you hope for something, you often believe in something. When you believe in something, you often have pride in it. Being proud often leads to a hating of some group.
As you can see, the Jedi are hypocrites.

Whether or not he made some "bad comments" is irrelevant; as the comments were not deemed newsworthy by the media, they were largely ignored. Gaffes need to be public and have an impact. His missteps so far have not.
You're entirely right that the media covers Obama more, but coverage is much more black and white. With McCain it's kind of "meh", but Obama coverage is either devotedly in love or completely dismissive. This comes from a study done before the conventions, so perhaps it's slightly out of date, but I doubt by much.
Furthermore, if the media were so worshipful of Obama, why would picking Hillary have helped with anything? Either way the press coverage would've been the same, if your hypothesis were carried through.

Bident has long said John McCain is a friend - and he didn't like the tone of the commercial. He stated his belief - how refreshing is that!
And he has long said tha the Clintons are his friends and admires Hillary. Hell, there are thousands more people more qualified to be Vice President - but they aren't about to be put through this political BS of ours. It is hell so we get the ones that want the power but also have to be all things to all people and practically prostitute themselves by the time election day comes.
As for the wheelchair incident - Biden couldn't see that the person was in a wheelchair - embarassing yes, but he didn't really ask a person to stand up KNOWING he couldn't.

Obama liked the tone of the commercial. How unrefreshing (and sick) is that!

Yep, and what does that say about Obama's decision-making skills?

Exactly, he's just ignorant.
If Joe Biden is supposed to be the national security guru on the Dems ticket, I'd like to hear what his opinion is on Bill Ayers and his continuing support for bombing the Pentagon in the 60s. I'd like to hear what he has to say about Barack Obama sitting on a Chicago board with Ayers and for his Senate campaign launch being hosted at Ayer's house.
I'd hope he would be against terrorism in all it's forms, foreign OR domestic.

ilumino,
apparently you are a republican campaigner.
I am not involved in this election, being European, but i must say your attempts to smear the Obama campaign to me look counterproductive. You are totally unconvincing and just plain annoying.
Besides, this forum is NOT a proper podium for this kind of 'political discussion'.
