1 Starcraft
2 Baldur's gate (all of em from ToTSC to NWN, but mainly 1&2, even if i play NWN way more nowadays)
3 Morrowind (dont have oblivion)
4 Rome: Total War (its hella fun from an integrated TBS and RTS POV, again havent played the most recent version, but from what i heard its better)
5 dont really know, either halo or halflife. but my halflife is glitched so i can never beat it... (has a problem with objects moving vertically faster than the character on top of themm causing me to get stuck and lose 1 hp every 2 seconds till i die. Sucks finding this out halfway through the last boss when he teleports you to a place where you need to stand on levitating rocks that lift you up to a portal... But Halo gets boring after a while, so I dun really know at all)

Quasi 6 - The Pirates of the Caribbean game in Disney Quest in Florida, where one person sails the ship and the other people point the cannons and fire at pirates and land based treasure :D Hella fun game, dunno if its still there though.

2) Rome and Medieval Total War (Rome Total Realism Mod)
3) Doom series (I designed my own levels)
4) Half-Life (and Team Fortress Classic)
5) Star Wars Rebellion (would be alot higher were it not for a really stupid and predictable AI)

Elite - (Classic 80’s game with vector graphics and tinny sound. Regarding gameplay and addictiveness, nothing beats it for me.)
Baldurs Gate - (Just redoing it for the umpteenth time and still enjoyable.)
Dynasty Warriors - (D/W6 Empires is current fave. Great stress basher)
Doom - (King of all stress bashers and mindless fun. Awesome.)
Final Fantasty (Mainly 7 and 9, although 7 is by far my favourite. A real groundbreaking game.)

Steel Panthers (all variants)
Oblivion
Might and Magic (various)

Faster beat em ups etc are just toooo exciting for an oldie like me with little hand to eye coordination

Fallout 2.
Fallout.
I haven't played anything else in large scale XD lol Once I was meeting this friend in Kajaani and we played this game where you sneak around and shoot Nazis or something like that, but we had god mode on so most likely I would've died very fast if the character hadn't been invincible. Also I shot at the guy we were supposed to rescue or something but fortunately he didn't get mad XD

That’s it, Chris…the follow-up to Elite was called Frontier, with greatly-improved graphics to the original game, and was immensely addictive - followed by a further addition of Frontier II - 'First Encounters', which I’ve never managed to get a copy of, as my Amiga 464 had long since blown a fuse and expired by the time it was released.

I feel old.

I haven't played any of the ones listed, probably never will...

5. "Tempest" was my favorite arcade game. Curse those damn X's!

4. There was a game for the Commodore 64, played off 5.25" floppies, with levels on levels of bricks, ladders, some little tiny guy you played running around and fending off others while collecting little egg-type things. Yeah, I'm describing it well. Anyway I looked for it just now but there are thousands of C64 games out there and I couldn't locate this one.

3. "Parsec" for the Texas Instruments TI99/4A. I held the record score on this one for a month or so in the early 80's. It had sound and speech through this crazy prototype speech synthesizer.

2. "Adventure" for the old Atari 2600 was a favorite as a kid, clunky graphics and game glitches all included. I got a chance to play it again a couple of years ago and my hands still remembered the moves for the mazes.

1. The Scott Adams Text Adventure series for the TI99/4A, inlcluding Pirate Adventure and others. Not video games per se, but give an old guy a break. The coolest thing was saving your place in the game -- it took 5 minutes and saved onto an actual audio cassette tape.

Now get off my lawn, you rascally whippersnappers.

This is extremely difficult...

In no particular order:

Final Fantasy (Series)
Half-Life (Series)
Deus Ex (Or other Irrational games: inc. the amazing System Shock series)
Any Bullfrog Game (Dungeon Keepr and Theme Park in particular)
Any Introversion Game (Defcon, Uplink & Darwinia)

I am currently playing a lot of STALKER. And I LOVE it, so so very much.
It is a stunningly beautiful game, a very nice concept (I'm not a great fan of RPGs like Morowind because of the fantasy setting) and is in many ways groundbreaking.

The problem with Stalker, though, is that itwhilst trying to be so much, it can only dissapoint. I miss the lack of vehicles and the sleeping mechanism I was expecting, I miss that it's not quite as open as promised, and the missions are limted.

However, the next patch will apparently remove the storyline, and allow missions for all factions. It should make the game much more like what i thought I was buying. That, and a SDK release for the great mods out there will launch it to the top of my list.

I'm also really looking forward to Fallout 3, and Bioshock.

I also have a very, very large soft spot for the Command and Conquer serieas. Not because I'm and RTS fan, but because I play them for the stories and fantastically camp acting.

Silent Hill games are also a big, big fav. of mine...

That about lists the most. there are more (Civilisation, Gran Turismo, Wipeout, the X-Wing series, etc. etc.)

Edit: And DOOM! How can I forget Doom! I was brought up on it...

And Mario Kart
And Super Mario
And Golden Eye!! Oh my god! Golden Eye - damn, there's no space in my top five...

Gah...
