The Horror that happened today...

On Monday morning, U.S. history was forever changed, when an unidentified man committed the deadliest shooting on American soil.

33 people were killed and 17 injured this morning at Virginia Tech as someone unloaded two automatics first in a college dorm and then later in several classrooms.

Police in Blacksburg, Va. said they are still investigating whether the two seperate shootings are connected.

What type of sick stuff is this? That someone can walk into a college with two automatic weapons and start shooting people... I mean, kids, teachers, students....

I know I live in North Dakota but I grew up with people that are currently in V-Tech and my baby brother goes there....

On Monday, near the end of the academic year, the public university nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains was the site of the worst mass shooting in the nation's history.

A gunman killed 33 people, including himself, on the campus known for its powerhouse football team, its engineering school and the idyllic setting in the small town of Blacksburg, about 160 miles west of Richmond.

I'm sorry this post is so crazy... I'm shaking and I can barely see the screen. I came home early from work today because I am still waiting to hear from my mom about whether my brother is safe or not....

Oh my God. I hate stuff like this. Why? Why do people want to go and shoot people they don't even know? I hate guns.

I can't stand guns either. I'm just sitting here in shock because this actually happened...

Why?

People are messed up... sadly enough.

OU has tightened security already. Dorms will now be locked 24/7 for the rest of the semester.

Not much I can say. It must be an awful feeling.

I finally heard back from my friend at VT. He's safe, thankfully. But shaken.

OH yeah!! My mom just called me and told me that my brother finally made it home! He had left his cell phone in his dorm room and had been running around doing what he could to help.

Thank goodness...

I think I can breath again.

Glad to hear everything worked out. I used to be very liberal, gun wise, but recently I've been libertarian in pretty much everything. What if one in every five of those people on campus had a gun? It wouldn't have happened. I live in an urban school with gangs and concealed weapons. I feel safe. This will never happen at my school, the gunman would be dead in minutes.
