You know you're a math nerd when after plugging in an X instead of a 2 for the function (x^2-4)^2, you spend the next several days zooming in and making beautiful pictures and looking at other functions with X's in the base and the exponent, and you wonder if you can take derivatives and integrals of said functions.

f(x)=x^x
f'(x)=x*x^(x-1)=x^2^(x-1) ???

I gotta look into this. Sorry for anybody whose characters are anywhere near mine.

Have you zoomed in to a domain of (-2.5,0) and range of (-4,4)? It's freaky. I'd upload pictures I took on my graphing calculator, but I can't find the USB cable.

All of these are of the function f(x) = (x^2 – 4)^x and have the range (-3.75 , 3.75)
(-2.75 , 2.75)
(-2.75 , 0)
(0 , 2.75)

I think I'm happy to declare my maths skills to be rather lacking, but they are very nice. Thank you.

I am rather more concerned with an emergent standard by which to judge a coffee... in that, if you can make a coffee look happy... it's probably not.

My Stat teacher hates it too. I use the 84 for Stat, but I need the 89 for Calculus.
