Do men really buy that?![]()

Disclaimer: Just kidding.
TBH, a man can never be sure. True, once we had expensive children (five tuitions), we decided that while for birthdays we can treat each other, anniversary gifts would be mutual gifts for the household (new TV, computer, whatever). Which hasn't stopped us individually from bending that agreement from time to time (plus, I give her stuff on other anniversary dates). But I was certain she was dead serious this year when, upon giving her a can of soda Tuesday night I had received free for a participation prize in a learning program and saying "here, happy pre-anniversary", she responded, "I sincerely hope that is ALL you've gotten me"
So, I did just get her a token box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates last night. Her gift to me was a beautifully prepared meal (including candle and tablecloth) with a fancy salad, and almond-breaded fish, pasta, and veggies and parfait desserts. Our kids even pooled their own money and talents and made a card together with baby pictures of my wife and me, Dove chocolate bars for us, a styrofoam flower pot with confetti "soil" and artificial flower. It was very sweet.
