It was the first time I had seen any Amish using electricity.

When I arrived to the company I was visiting I noticed many Amish working at the plant. Several were running presses which are obviously powered by electricity....kind of surprised me.

Intriguing culture...

I think they have to do that now because it is law. Too many cars hitting their buggies when it was dark or raining out.

I don't know, I didn't really like Gangsta's Paradise all that much. Maybe I'll have to listen to it again.

A very nice propaganda film, very well done, and I like it, but it's a bit too simplistic.

What's really going down takes quite a lot more time to explain, and must be explained in depth.

This here thing also ignores the Americans who know what's up.

(And propaganda is not a bad thing. It just means stuff that propagates.)

I think the Mennonites use electricity and a bit more technology, though they still dress "simple" or "plain" - I think one of those is their term for it, but that may have been the Shakers.

At any rate, I've seen the fluorescent orange reflective triangles on the backs of buggies, but never an actual electric light before.
