Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Any thoughts on the solar-generated EMP that's supposed to happen sometime next year?

I have no link, I just heard it from my uncle, but I'd be glad to ask where he found out and post it here when I get back.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I've been terribly dead for, like, a month, maybe? I dunno really, but I lost count/track of time.
Life was made yesterday at work. I picked up an extra shift and lucky I did. I totally met someone named Raaj! haha
Finally on vacation. Leaving for 2 weeks then back to tons of work and eventually school.
I'd apologize for being gone from Cantr, but I still can't guarantee that I'll be back so then I'd be lying and not mean my apology so I'll refrain from any such promises.
Also, thanks for the birthday wishes, it was a rad weekend.

</has no life>
Grandparents and uncle left this morning, and I get my bathroom back. Wooo! The first thing I'm going to do is eat a bran muffin.
Next week: Saxophone camp, and the rest of my summer is booked with band camps. Chances are I will /not/ be on as much as I'd like to be for the next month or two.
Plus, I'm supposed to be reading the Great Gatsby for AP English Language & Composition (will be referred to in the future as "AP Lang"), but I don't even have the book yet. And plus, I'm not really sure I'll be taking that class anyway because I have such a screwed up schedule so far planned for this year.

Oh gods, the depth of my hatred for that book cannot be overstated. I can't even explain why I hate it so much because I've read plenty of books I didn't enjoy but just... *shudders* ugh.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
No, not in my bathroom! That's where I'm going sometime after the bran muffin.
Oh, and we don't have bran muffins, so I'm eating tortilla chips and Chex Mix instead.
Edit (because I don't feel like double-posting).
So, today, my right hand, especially the area around the bones and joints connected to the ulna, has been hurting and filled with a dead feeling in general. I've experienced this before in my left arm when my lymph nodes were randomly swollen and pressing against a nerve, but I've checked and there's no swelling in my arm this time. I'm not moving my hands any differently than I normally do on a lazy day, so I've no idea what's wrong. I looked it up on WebMD, and it gave me several results including ulnar nerve injury (in other words a pinched nerve (cubital tunnel syndrome)), carpel tunnel syndrome (which I doubt because the pain extends past my wrist into my forearm), pronator teres syndrome (doesn't sound too far off...there is a little bit of pain hinting at the joint between my hand and my thumb), and prosterior interosseous nerve syndrome (which doesn't fit the bill since the pain is in the areas controlled by the ulnar nerve and not the radial nerve). And no, I have no hit my funny bone in that arm in the last few weeks.
One time something kind of similar to this (a.k.a random dull pain) happened in one of my legs, and I woke up the next day and it was fine. I'm going to see if I can sleep this one off and if not then I'll say something to my mom tomorrow.

Ok, so, I'm getting a bit pissed off. She didn't buy me a kilt, because if she'd have measured me for sizing, it would have given it away. So, she got a gift certificate to the store instead. Ok, that's preferable, because I can pick out my own kilt. So, I go to the website, and it tells me the kilt and belt I want are out of stock. Ok. They won't let me put it in my cart if it's out of stock. Ok. So, I email customer service and ask when they're getting more of that kind in. They reply, check back every Monday at noon, cause that's when our stock is refreshed on the website.
WTF?
If there was a guy standing at your door with $250, and he wanted to give it to you in exchange for something you didn't have, but could get easily enough, what would you do? Take his money and go get what he wants. You wouldn't tell him to go away and come back once a week until you have it. If you did, he might go to your neighbor instead. It's not like this place is the only utility kilt manufacturer in North America. Unfortunately, I have this gift certificate that I'm now having nightmares about not being able to spend. Really, how damn hard is it for you to take my damn order and tell me I have to wait until it comes in?

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I think it's actually a good sign if a store doesn't take someone's money before they have the product available, because I once tried to order a plasma ball from a webstore, and even though they claimed they had it in stock, they magically ran out as soon as I'd made the order. I waited for weeks but they never got it, so eventually I found another website that, even though it sold it for a bit more expensive price, had cheaper delivery costs so in the end it cost less as a total. And that website says they don't allow people to put things in their shopping cart unless the object is in stock. So I cancelled the order from the first store and fortunately got my money back within a relatively short time. I assume many stores have relations to a lot of suppliers and won't be able to tell if those supplies are burdened by a load of orders in line, so it's safer for the store to only sell things they know for sure are available within the stated time limit, otherwise people are going to be disappointed and give the store bad reviews.
Also once I ordered four books from a Finnish webstore, which delivered two of them and then didn't send the rest for weeks, so I contacted them again and they had somehow lost the rest of my order since they had database problems, so they had to order the books from the States and that took even more time.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
My issue is that I have to wait an indeterminate amount of time. I want this kilt before the end of September. Tick tock. I'm pissed off because if I was morbidly obese, I could call them and they'd custom make me a kilt (and charge more), but because I fit a "normal" size, I need to keep checking back every day for who knows how long. Why can't I call them and have them order me a kilt in my size? Why are they making me go out of my way to buy their product? I feel discriminated against for being a majority.
On another rant, I have a boil on my shoulder that I keep picking at, so I put a band-aid (plaster for you Brits) over it so I wouldn't pick at it. Apparently, my skin had an issue with the adhesive and became so irritated, that when I pulled off the band-aid, my skin came with it. It stings like a mother-f*&^*r. Naturally, I'm wary of covering it with another band-aid, but it's right on my neckline and I need to cover it somehow, or it'll rub and hurt even more. *sighs*

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Thought: I came to the conclusion yesterday that part of me doesn't believe Oregon is a real state. It's just in the way when you're moving between Washington and California. I'm guessing that's an impression I retained from when I was being shipped to California to spend summers with my father's mother and step-father to be locked in a room because they didn't like kids over five or with my half-sister's family to be locked in a room because they were dealing and trying to...I don't know, protect us from something we had no understanding of, perhaps. I hated Oregon on the long drives to California, but it was my bff on the way back.
There was also a time when I didn't believe in Missouri. I've gotten over that, but it was at the cost of a permanent disbelief in Canada.
