Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Rats! Got a call at 2AM from one of the people in Scrabble club because I had accidentally walked off with her car keys (I had gotten her equipment out of her trunk), so I had to get out of bed, get dressed and drive all the way back there. But -- why couldn't she have noticed a couple of hours sooner?

Venezuelan private college. Dickheads, in other words.
I have this buddy who goes to a community college run by southern baptists, and he tells me that in every single class, they manage to connect every single assignment to the glories of God - which, discussions on if there is or isn't a God aside, must get old fast. We're talking about writing papers in math class about how the golden ratio proves God's existence, how the Civil War was punishment from God, etc.
It makes me grateful sometimes to think that, while UCF might not be the best university out there by far, it is at least a real university.
Hey now, don't be dissin UCF! I think they are now #10 in the nation for size of student body, university blvd is a nightmare nowadays I hear.
Their reputation is growing now also, I am not so sure about when I attended. But a degree from UCF is not sneezed at in many working locations. If you are going business, an MBA from Rollins is one of the better ones in nation and especially the southeast. UCF adding a med program has also brought their prestige up a bit. They are not the best, but for public U's they are growing in prestige. The golden...wait...I mean The Knights have come a long way.
Be well

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I've been debating investing in a CD or two for just over a week now and finally sat down to look a the figures and such. The initial investment has be to $5k. O.O
If I didn't need that money at the end of the year, I'd be down for it, but, unfortunately, I have loans to pay and can't go investing it. Makes me a little sad.
Also, the effers wanted me to do calculus! CALCULUS!
I actually started working it out, the compound interest on 5grand at 2.0% APY when I realized what the scheming sneaks were up to.
So, no investing for me. Not right now. Need access to the money soon as I get out of school so I can be rid of loans and such. More eager to pay those off quickly than anything else. Maybe at the end of the year, depending on how much I have, it's something I can look into again.

Money Markets. Some of them will give you a better interest rate than a CD and it's still fairly liquid. I've done CDs in the past but I don't anymore.

Diet Dr Pepper and jalapeño/chili jerky this morning, a regular breakfast of champions. I mean, it's good jerky, but it doesn't hold a candle to my usual Saturday breakfast of overeasy eggs, pan toasted toast, and coffee.

I had pizza for breakfast... From yesterday's dinner. And...
I think it's the only think I can have for breakfast without problem. I HATE having it and usually I only have some milk...

I woke up too late to have "breakfast" (using its connotative meaning). Lunch is in twenty minutes: pasta with a garlic butter sauce and asparagus.

Okay, I lied, I forgot I did ALSO have a slice of pizza from my own last night's dinner for breakfast as well, but it was a small one. Good though. It had bacon on it, so that's close to... something, right?

I lied: no garlic in it. But there are hazelnuts in it. It's actually really good.
