I'm happy to hear that, Arenti.

I'm pretty sure it still is that way.
What I meant is that there was no illness in the past, so people could get away with dumping all the corpses on projects to sweep them under the carpet and get away with it. I don't think unfinished burial projects should last forever, the bodies should decompose but attracting scavengers and vermin while at it.
Ahh, I didn't know that unburied bodies breed disease. Good to know.

You arrive in Place.
You see 10 projects being worked on, blah blah blah etc.
ooc:: -goes to look at project page and sees four bodies up for burial; objects page reveals no bodies explicitly on the ground-
You eat more than six days' worth of food in one sitting.
ooc:: -checks profile and sees "She feels a bit faint."-
ooc::
WHAAT.

It definitely is still that way.

Which is funny because after Haiti a study was conducted that determined that post-disaster, burying bodies shouldn't be as high a priority as other things, because as it turns out IRL, unburied bodies aren't actually much of a disease threat at all.
That's assuming they didn't die OF disease though, of course.

Snickie is NOT looking forward to Daylight Savings Time beginning.
It's going to completely mess up her Cantr-timings.
And yes, Snickie knows that she's talking about herself in third person. -shifty eyes-

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
So.. for those of you that -don't- already know.. a couple of days ago, the lights at our house flickered, which shut my computer off. When I went to turn it back on, I got an error message stating that I needed a system disk.. sooo I tried to use the disks that I made when I first got the computer.. it wouldn't read them.. so I disconnect the tower and take it into Office Max. They hook it up, get the same error message.. so they put in their vista disk and tried to get it to repair itself... got another error message stating that it couldn't be repaired... my wonderful hard drive didn't recognize the operating system it had so of course it couldn't repair what it didn't know existed..
Sooo when they told me that it was gonna cost several hundred dollars to fix, AND that they were going to send it off for someone else to 'possibly' fix.. I said.. Ohhhh no.. never mind.. I will give the tower to my grandfather as a project to work on seeing how he does this stuff all the time. NOT to mention.. I have payroll information on my computer.. other peoples social security numbers on it so yeah.. didn't want just 'anyone' to work on my computer. It is safely at my grandfathers house.. if he can't fix whatever the problem is, he will put a newer hard drive in the computer so I can use my tower again instead of a laptop that is.. well lets just say that I'm amazed the thing still works.. I have a monitor hooked up to it cause the screen is broke and a keyboard hooked up to it cause my son.. trying to be helpful sprayed cleaner on the keyboard................ yeah Ohhh and did I mention that I can't get my chars on projects, or look at notes.. sometimes I can drag, I can move in and out of buildings.. but yeah..
If you know who my chars are.. and I ask you to do something you might think is stupid.. it's probably because I 'can't' do it on this laptop so just be sweet and caring and help out my chars! Thanks

Good luck Mikki.
I got to 1.00 posts per day! It's been a long goal of mine.
I wish I could figure out the exact day that I started Cantr II. It's probably around now.

No, it's probably around 6 years ago

Maybe if Doug knows his exact day I could just add or subtract from that?

Is that 'down to 1.00 posts per day' or 'up to 1.00 posts per day'?

I'm pretty sure it's up to.
I'm hovering around 5.00 posts per day.

SSNs on it? Just make sure if you swap out the harddrive you use one of those eraser programs on it that over-writes it several times. Better yet, use it to test out a new wood chipper.
Far as data recovery goes, find a way to get a copy of spinrite, or find a linux geek that might be able to at least pull the files off it using a knoppix disk or something. They'd probably be glad to help just for the opportunity to brag.
Unfortunately, I don't know much about this stuff except where to start looking.

Well see.. my grandfather will either get the data back to me, or erase it completely. He is one that I trust. He's family and has always been the one to fix my computers when they need to be fixed. He knows the kind of things I have on it and I have never had a problem before.. What I can't stand is the amount of time it will take for me to get the tower back from him.. But then again I can't really complain when this work is being done for free.

It bothers me a great deal that I learned how to make the best scrambled eggs I know how from Gordon Ramsey, because I find that Hell's Kitchen show to be abhorrent.

It also pisses me off that the pot is almost impossible to clean afterwards... I'm not sure what he does to keep it from embedding in there like that, or if he just lets someone else take care of that problem.

Yeah, I left myself open for that. I was thinking that as I was typing.

You started on 1088, several weeks after me. The only way I can equate that to an actual date is if I could pull up my old turn reports, which I have archived in a fairly unreadable format on my other computer.
