Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
If the pain feels like it's up under your ribs in your diaphram area, you have what I get. It comes on instantly and hard, and the pain makes you feel that it would hurt less to cut a hole in your chest with a knife. Take my advice - go to the store and buy a bottle of pepto. It works instantly (for me) and will only set you back a few bucks. And lay off whatever is triggering it.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Not entirely sure what a diaphragm is but the first couple of times I thought it was an issue with my lungs, but my breathing was unaffected. It really really really doesn't feel like indigestion (It's hard to imagine indigestion can be that bad) but I'll try the pepto thing. Thanks. :]
It always starts just feeling like my body is speeding up really really fast. >.<

You're right, it's not indigestion. It's heartburn. I always thought they were the same.

I just use Tums. It's good for heartburn and when you have an upset stomach, it seems to neutralize things.

What's the difference?
I was just thinking about it and it reminds me of when I was prescribed high doses of Adderall, and it turned out I didn't have ADD. And for people who don't have ADD, it's like speed.

Not so much, a rant, but I just heard this and it amused me:

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I got a burn almost on a joint, I think it happened on Wednesday but it only turned visible on Thursday, or at least that's when I noticed the sore. It's pretty small but it hurts when I touch it or when I flex my finger.
Also, it irritates me when I would have time to play and few other people seem to be active then, while people keep expecting things from my characters when I have work days and can't afford to stay up late. I'm working at a police station diner as a part of my education. I've been liking it so far but it's irritating when I've packed breakfast or lunch for prisoners and some of them don't eat so we have to throw the food in the trash. They get more breakfast than I do. Then again, I might be allowed to eat as much but I've never asked about it because I just look at what the other workers eat and eat about the same. Then I get hungry before lunch and I'm hungry again by the time I get home.

Not wanting to go into messy details, I am simply going to say UGH!
I am totally hanging onto the logic of "it will be worth it in the end" but damn, it sure doesn't help me now!

Yes. Cocaine, amphetamines, methamphetamines, and most other stimulants can definitely give you heartburn. Adderall is nothing but mixed amphetamine salts.phoenixannwn wrote::shock:

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Rant: Sick sick sick. Wednesday night found me collapsed on the floor, sobbing, because I felt so bad (and apparently that's the best way to deal with it?). Then it got worse Thursday and worse again Friday. I feel better today because I've had more success at breathing, but the symptoms are worse and I still have a fever. I feel vaguely guilty for not feeling like dealing with my characters, or for dealing with them poorly. I wish I could just stay in bed, but 1. that makes my head pound, and 2. that bed is freakishly uncomfortable. I also feel guilty because kitty couldn't sleep on me last night due to the violent coughing. I have chocolate almond milk for dinner, though, so that's nice.

Well that's good to know. My doctor was prescribing amphetamine's to literally the last person in the world that needed them.

And I didn't know heartburn was literal although it's more of a sharp jab or squeeze than a burn.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Heartburn should not feel at all like a jab or a squeeze. It should feel like you are gargling battery acid. If it's a non-burning sensation, it is most definitely NOT heartburn you're talking about. Heartburn means the gastric acid in your stomach is improperly sealed within your stomach, causing it to go up your throat, burning the tissue.

How about waking up in the middle of the night, gasping for breath because you apparently stopped breathing in your sleep, then cough horribly. Yep.. that happened a couple of weeks ago. Talk about scaring the crap out of me. Stupid sleep apnea.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
A jab or a squeeze sounds more like a heart symptom, unless it's just gas. Gas is usually lower, though. Could also be about the muscles. I get odd chest symptoms pretty often and I don't know what they're all about but I know I have acid reflux sometimes and my muscles are often stiff, and mammaries get swollen and sore in certain parts of the menstrual cycle.
