Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Chroma: I feel ya. I lost my mother when I wsa 16, and my brother a few years ago. Hang in there, kid.
TotD: Wednesday, I missed by apparently a matter of a minute or two, my chance to be in the same room with a Nobel prize winner. This would have been the second Nobel prize winner I've been in the same room with. James D. Watson, of DNA fame, gave a lecture at the hospital Wednesdat, and was up in our labs before that. I was a few dozen feet away in my office, but had no idea. Arno Penzias, co-discoverer of the cosmic background radiation was a member of the synagogue I grew up in, so I had close contact with him for years. (incidentally, both Dr. Penzias, and Dr. Selman Waksman, who won the Nobel in medicine 26 years earlier for discovering streptomycin, lived in my home town. Not bad for a population of less than 15,000. Probably the highest concentration of Nobel Prize winners from different years anywhere in world (my conjecture could be wrong, but don't feel like doing the research))

I hate that saying. Lost my mom when I was 12 and 20 years hasn't done much to ease that ache. But anyway... *hugs*

*Hugs* Time doesn't heal the wounds. But the people we lost in our way, remain alive, as long as we remember them. Keep her alive in your memory, Chroma.

Talking about Time.. Yeah I don't believe it either.. I lost my youngest.. will be 7 years this year. Nothing will replace him nor will anything take the pain away.

My wife accidentally threw away my razer... so I ended up using some BIC that I had laying around. I should have known better. Now I have a cut on my chin that starts bleeding as soon as i take the adhesive bandage off... It's been like 6 hours too. >.<

[we're watching the first 48, some guy in a ballcap is sitting at an interrogation table for beating a transvestite prostitute to death. I pass by and see him, he reminds me of Tiger Woods]
Me: Is that Tiger Woods?
Mom: [looks] No I don't think so.
Me: [nods] Yeah, Tiger Woods doesn't assault homosexuals.
Mom: [nods] Not generally.
Me:....Generally?
Just thought it was funny.

That is a perfect example of people that talk for the sake of trying to hold up a conversation that is dead or should be. This aggravates me to the point of me wanting to pull my hair out. My (kicked out of the house bum of a ) husband loved to reply to anything I said just as a statement, no need to reply...oh really. Like that was going to make me come up with some long winded bull crap to entertain him. I hope to never hear that statement again.

It wasn't like she wasn't paying attention though. She thought that was a legitimate response.
It continued like this:
Mom: [nods] Yeah.
Me: As in, sometimes, he does assault homosexuals, but it's not a big deal because he doesn't do it all the time?
Mom: [pauses, looking confused] No?
*shakes head, laughing* She's a little slow.
Edit: Oh, and this, out of nowhere, as she's watching tv (still the first 48):
Mom: [screaming] SOME COFFEE AND DONUTS FOR THE COPPERS!
....
I think I know where I get my weird from. It's hereditary.

Muscle relaxers and pain killers for me. This weekend sucks and these meds have me so out of it
For those who interact with my characters, my apologies. Back to bed for me.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I'm thinking about it....
Went all damn day without thinking about it, pretending it hadn't happened, etc and now that I don't have work to occupy my thoughts I'm thinking about it non-stop and it's pissing me off and annoying me.
Ugh. I feel so incredibly emotional about it and freaking stupid. I shouldn't effing care!

The pile of crap I throw away is bigger than that pile I have chosen to keep. *hugs to CN * This wont really help you today, but it will tomorrow.

Mom: [checking the weather] It is not 46 degrees outside.
Me: Yes it is, my toes are freezing!
Mom: Freezing my ass!...nuts.
Me: [pause] If you have ass-nuts I am seriously worried for you.

1. The boyfriend keeps trying to absorb me. He also bought a gallon of milk to assassinate me.
2. I dropped that useless online class and am looking forward to taking it next semester with a non-useless professor.
3. I'm gonna need people that I used to babysit when they were babies to stop being 14+, mmk? Also my sister's kids. I never babysat them, but I last saw them when they were one and two and now they are fourteen and fifteen and they just need to quit it. It's very disconcerting.
