Thought or Rant of the day!!!

I've been inspired...and surprisingly my dad hasn't had lox before or even heard of it. He's really into gourmet cooking and is fairly knowledgeable about worldly foods so it was unexpected. Anyway, he talked me into getting a couple fillets of salmon at the store so we're going to attempt a quick-n-dirty lox. I'm afraid it won't have enough time to properly brine but we'll cold smoke it tomorrow along with some cheddar cheese. mmmm!!

Oh, and he made some kickass ribs and corn on the cob for dinner. I need to visit him more often.

just look at them, doing all that stuff that all of us who have been married 20+ yrs find disgusting

I know I'm gunna regret this....but:

Men and women are different and so are their needs and small children and babies ARE exhausting, And I honestly was REALLY tired. Plus all the physical demands on my body, little clingons and constant demand for affection might have made me not want to be touched as often as before. (Read for go away and leave me alone). But they grow up and become a little more independant and I have energy again and low and behold, there is a man in my bed and gosh he suddenly looks very attractive and desirable......

Besides through it all and whatever else came he was and is by best friend.

Speaking from the other (i.e. male) side of this, I can attest this is true. Five kids (each accompanied with 8 months of morning sickness and two years of infant/toddlerhood), followed by a year of my brother living with us, and three deaths (including his) of close family members left us with about 18 straight years of... well, not much. This past year, on the other hand, has been the BEST in our marriage, in that department. 20+ years years? Well, I'll let you know that statistic in a year. But yeah, you guys out there, assuming you have the guts to stick it out... you better make sure your mojo is well-prepared for "no young kids" phase. If you don't keep yourself up, it can dang near kill you (but what a way to go!)

I live in the Netherlands. And the rain started again. I have to walk with the dog so I rather not have it rain.

Haha....I live in one of the most hick states (by reputation, anyways).
South east....very south, past the middle of the US by a good amount.

My two guesses are Mississippi and Alabama, and if not those, then Georgia.
As for me, I'm stuck in Florida...but you knew that already, didn't you? *points to location*

Most of my students don't realize Alaska isn't an island floating in the middle of the ocean....-_-

Lol. Even my first association to "hick state" was Alabama although I couldn't point it out on an umarked map. You guys indeed got a reputation... ^^
