Yeah, it's about the guy at the left wearing the "Vote for Pedro" shirt. He's not brilliant by any means...he falls into that wierd subclass tha's not focused enough in their abnormality to be a geek, not smart enough to be a nerd, and too anticlimactic to be called a spaz. (Everyone has to see Saturday Night Live's Geek, Dweeb, or Spaz sketch at least once in their lives

The film is dryer than gin. Anticlimactic is the best way to describe it because nothing really happens, but it is one of the greatest illustrations of the importance of comic timing that I have seen. The timing is brilliant. The characters are so off the wall - but not in an over the top kind of way - which is really hard to do.
It feels a lot like the Wes Anderson films (Bottlerocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tennenbaums) in a lot of ways - I guess especially the flow and timing aspects. A lot closer to Bottlerocket out of the three.
