Napoleon Dynamite.....Where do I begin? Oh yeah. It's only like the greatest friggin' movie ever made in the history of the flippin' world! Gawd! Alright, it's not the best but it's up there.

Yeah, it's about the guy at the left wearing the "Vote for Pedro" shirt. He's not brilliant by any means...he falls into that wierd subclass tha's not focused enough in their abnormality to be a geek, not smart enough to be a nerd, and too anticlimactic to be called a spaz. (Everyone has to see Saturday Night Live's Geek, Dweeb, or Spaz sketch at least once in their lives  )

The film is dryer than gin. Anticlimactic is the best way to describe it because nothing really happens, but it is one of the greatest illustrations of the importance of comic timing that I have seen. The timing is brilliant. The characters are so off the wall - but not in an over the top kind of way - which is really hard to do.

It feels a lot like the Wes Anderson films (Bottlerocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tennenbaums) in a lot of ways - I guess especially the flow and timing aspects. A lot closer to Bottlerocket out of the three.

And since the topic is about music  I dug out my Oasis CDs today for the first time in a while.

I was at a deerhoof concert last summer, if I remember correctly. Aren't they pretty crazy? I remember some weird song, it went something like "papaya, la banana, papaya, la banana" and the singer was doing some sort of dance with a banana :) The whole thing was a bit weird but i liked it

The song I mentioned by Louis XIV, is actually called, Finding out love is blind. Not what I said before. That just dawned on me while I was sweeping the floor.

Actually, I think Silas started it and now Loebnos wakes up every ninth day and screams "PAPAYA" at the top of his lungs for an extended amount of time. Kind of funny in a way, even though Silas thinks he's being mocked by the sleeper.
