The mainstream does not cut new channels etc. etc.

Nothing new comes from what was said in the past etc. etc.

Following a leader does not allow you to make alternate choices etc. etc.

We are prisoners of language too. It's hard to think of new concepts that have no labels or relationships to old ones. In that respect a sort of ominous cultural influence is the leader, much harder to pin down. If I can't describe something, it usually signals to me that I am thinkng of something that _might_ be new.
