I really, really hate it when you know full and well that something discussed on the board that irks one clique or another spills over into the game.

it doesnt need to be an irk to spill over, almost everything on the forums has very tiny influences on the way people play. Even the best RPers can only remove themselves so much from thier own life (multi-personality disorders aside). It's not appropriate, but I understand why it happens and I ussally feel somewhat lienent about it so long as they can tie it into thier charie's personality.

You see I just can't buy that! There are some people who can immerse themselves in game but be rational enough to leave it behind when they come on the forum and vice versa. If I play chess with someone, or when I used to play LAN doom, I didn't walk around afterwards plotting how to kill people! There are some quite unstable people around who just can't get a real perspective! At least when out of game stuff really wound me up I just deleted my account rather than doing something regretable in game!

I completely disagree. There is the game and there is the forum. To carry one over to the other, or even to carry what happen to one of your characters in-game to another in-game character, is just immature.

Someone asked me why you quit and I told that person, you started playing this other game, met this chick and started being an asshole to your friends. No.

People aren't scared of other people when they are in a forum, so they gain a lot of stubborn courage. So, please, stop fighting on the forums. It's not going to solve problems. And name-calling is a very pathetic, juvenile attack.

That drugs and alcohol can make people act irrational...(and I said it in a general sense) but they can do that without those things.

I think you missunderstood what I ment by carring over, or I missunderstood yall. Either way, I dont meen, "he called me a douche so I'll murder his charie" I ment things like how you tend to see noticable increases in areas of conversation (ex: religious ideals) when such things show up in the forums. The opinions that such charies voice are ussally all thier own (not thier playes), but the players have such thoughs more in thier foremind, so it becomes an obvious topic of conversaition.

I also see a lot of newspawns of simaler architypes showing up at the same time, whether they be preachers, blind, mute, whatever. A lot of that I would stipulate is the result of either in forum conversartion such as the slew of preachers that showed up a few Cantr years ago as a result of someone in the forums mentioning that to be a fun thing to do when you run out of ideas. Other cluster architype spawns are probably the result of seeing an intersting newspawn and wanting one of your own.

I dont like that these things happen either. All I was saing is that I understand why they happen, and that it's not always a conscience or nessissarly harmful thing when it does.

I was talking about when someone attacks someone else in-game because there's 'beef' on the board. Or when a poster mentions "X character is annoying because [insert reason]" and suddenly all X character need do is walk into a town and they're jumped.

Cluster of char types are inevitable, I agree, and generally weed themselves out based on quality.

I don't know what to do. It sucks having a character who's clumsy with most basic things of life, having to relay on the help of others. Makes you feel like shit... And I'm not talking about some village idiot, I'm talking about a leader character. Suppose you wanted something but cannot ask, since there's nothing you could give in return, nothing that would be your own. All you have has been taken from the backs of others. And you try to make up for it by doing insignificant meaningless little things... but everything's just falling apart.
