Fkn' ambiguous Capital Rule!

It's more like a Capital Guideline (and, from what I've seen, was actually a guideline in the past) that is sometimes followed but other times taken to an extreme and yet other times it's not only not followed but used as an example of why to not follow.

While I've never had a problem with this rule, and probably never will, I still find it loose for the amount of restriction it's "supposed to have".... and problems it's "supposed to fix".

I REALLY want these rules somewhere CLEAR, OBVIOUS AND STAND POINT... so that there aren't questions and/or concerns. It needs to be somewhere NOT on the character sign in screen that no one reads. There needs to be a link on the main page that says "CANTR RULES HERE!" I'd also like for events to be stored more then people say they are.

Cantr doesn't have only one rule... it's got a rule heading called "The CR", which is actually a list of rules in the guise of one giant infraction.... a giant infraction with a wide range of severity and punishments. In America we at least right down our confusing and/or stupid laws that people are supposed to follow. Ignorance of the law is no excuse, unless the law was ignorant and forgot to write that law down, somewhere.

FUNNY THING: This is reflected IG by everything in EVERY TOWN being "considered theft" and will "result in death".... or jail... which is death because once you're locked up, you're gone. Unless you're VERY persistent, locked up characters are doomed to starvation.

Not a problem I have because it makes law reading actually not needed (except to see how many animals to stop on when hunting) and I am very persistent (at least with the characters I like) BUT it's still annoying.

Rant:

I'm very annoyed with the fact that due to a slow connection, and a difference of about two minutes, I was unable to post a bit of RP that I had wrote out. Probably less than two minutes..

Cantr lacks prose. You know, where one person speaks, then another, then the original, then the second, and so on and so forth. In MUD's, (if the players have courtesy that is so lacking here) slow connections don't always matter. I know that I can take 2-5 minutes to write out my bit without being hindered, and thats in a type of RP where others are online right then! They wait! People with slow internet still have a chance to RP, and enjoy the RP.

Side rant- Players with lack of prose, who dominate the RP without form, and care nothing for letting others take part. This is happening way too much lately, and it upsets me.

/rant

Sidenote:If you think this is directed at you(which it probably isn't) then take care with you RP, perhaps. I want no bitter words over this, as it's a non-specific-rant, which is far from harping at people to change, and rather just pointing out what is ruining the game experience for me, personally. In other words, if you're gonna take offense and bitch about my post, don't waste your time.

Agreed.

It's especially unfortunate when you are trying to RP through a death and miss your chance because of a bloody slow connection and the killer's impatience.

You know what else kinda sucks?

People who intentionally wait for a char to be asleep so they can kill them. That's just cruel :(

Edit: and, you're totally doing that thing where you follow me around again >.> This can't end well. :D

I'd rather people just strike my characters down. If I want the opportunity to RP and/or write out a death... I can go to RPGuild or simply write a story about it later.

lol aww, thats just mean Reb  and CN, I don't follow you, you just follow ahead of me. But yes, people who kill you in your sleep aggravate me. I don't care if my charrie has to die, but I'd like to at least get some good RP out of it.

Especially if its an older, more established character. I'm not asking for a dramatic or epic death, just maybe one with some dignity?

Rebma, I'm still giggling uncontrollably at you acting as a human wall between us
Thank you for that. :D Made my night

I lost my internet connection for two and a half weeks, and got it back today - however it was one day too late, for I got the email today informing me that one of my most valued characters had starved to death. My FTO character also died while I was disconnected, but I was most dismayed by the Cantr death, because of how long I had spent developing the character (more than an RL year), and how pointless and inconvenient his death was considering the position he was in when I last played him. So I am sorry to anybody who has suffered awkward RP due to my inactive characters...

I have few characters left whom I care about now, maybe 1 or two at best, and those have stagnated due to my inactivity, so at the moment I am feeling tempted to just unsubscribe my account. I would probably rejoin at some point in the future, but Cantr makes me feel so depressed right now that I think I would derive little pleasure from continuing to play.

If I do it, will I be able to have the account resurrected at a later date?

I think the account can be resurrected, yeah.

I wonder if I interacted with any of your characters. A few people had been wondering "Where the fk was joo", now we got the answer.

Good to see you didn't get yourself killed or jailed for all you're reap.
