That star trek MMORPG sounds pretty sweet, we'll see what they can do in two years. I signed up for the SEED beta too, but how much will it cost once it opens?

That's not been decided yet, but you can probably expect that it'll be 15-20 Euros a month

OMG, you've just forced me to make an acronym. Though I have to admit the Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time is a totally awesome game, the Wind Waker's got some real potential, too, darn it! The Nintendo Gamecube Zelda game has been awarded for Best Graphics of the Year in Nintendo Power magazine, shokosho! Game Informer, the world's #1 computer and video game magazine, rates it a 10 out of 10! It IS a great game, no doubt about it. You don't know what you're really missing.

You shouldn't look at magazines for impressions.

Just ask around for them.

Graphics mean nothing. This, to be frank, should be obvious to a Cantr player. I look for gameplay and plot in games. Unless they're MMO, then my number one priority is the community.

Well other games that I play are... Well, no other but the Sims 2. I play its expansion, Night Life. It's kind of boring but it's good when you have nothing else to do.

While that is your opinion, you do have a point there. But I was saying that because some people just say that The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is a lame game because of the Toon-Shading graphics. There's more to it than just graphics, and that's what made that game so great.

As of now, I play the first Legend of Zelda (Nintendo Entertainment System) as an alternative to Cantr II. It's been over 15 years since it's release and it's still an awesome game, and anybody who ever played a real Zelda game knows why.

Way over 15 years. Closer to 20 since I had it.

Or you could just download them...

I don't know why nintendo haven't cottonned on to the emulator market. Fine, it might be illegal to download old SNES and NES games, but they're no longer commmercially available.

There's new US legislation (pending) that will remove various rights surrounding material that is designed for 'obsolete' platforms - basically, it'll mean that people can swap old games for the SNES/NES/megadrive etc. unless the games are re-released on current platforms, or they original format is made commerically avialable again.

The recent Gameboy conversions of SNES and NES games have been done as they're cheap, and it'll negate the pending legislation.

What I don't understand is why nintendo haven't developed their own emulator and started to release the old games as downloads.

It would require very little effort on their part. Copying SNES cartridges to a computer is easy enough, and emulators are numerous. All they'd have to do is release the games they have the rights to for a few buck a pop.

I can imagine the market for people wanting to play old SNES games isn't too great, but I'm sure it's viable...
