I'm American (as if that's a homogenous group)
but..let's see...break it down, i'm probably 3/4 scottish, with bits of Prussian, French, English, Osage, and Welsh thrown in for good measure. Probably more to it than that, too.

Why european? So I could live in Europe.
Why wouldn't I want to live in europe? Meh. I'd love to visit, maybe even live there...but America has its perks.

Never even been to Europe. I'd dearly like to go. I've had plans canceled on me 2x so far, though. Pissed me off.
Well, someday, eh?

I know there are a few. But I'm saying unfortunely the majority of French people I hear about are really hostile towards Americans. I met a few and they were absolutely evil to me!

Unfortunately many people round the world are becoming anti-American. That's a great shame. It's wrong to judge a people. I pity those people. Even where I live they are hostile.

yes, very wrong to judge people, like Americans, or the French for that matter. What is your opinion of the French again?

The French are different. The majority hate us for no reason and I really hate that. The French are an exception!

However, I stress there are a lot of other very good Fench people I haven't met so I must say that. I'm going by past experience.

That sounds judgemental to me, and as a result of your previous comment: hypocritical.

If you think it is wrong for others to judge America, then it must also be wrong to judge other countries, as no doubt whoever judges will have reasons for it, which they belive justifies it.

If general public opinion is against America, does that not suggest that America is doing something incorrectly, in order to get that amount of negative sentiment?

I would say that the French and Americans are very similar while still having a general dislike for each other and being disliked by many others.

If you look at the sterotypes that are made of the two besides miltary agressiveness the reasons for dislike are the same.

I do not agree 100% with what my country does but that gives no right to judge American people.

When you generalise statements towards a country you are not judging people because of the massive variety and the inherrant exceptions, but as a country people dislike America, and that is a subtle difference between disliking the populace and the state, and it is the latter people dislike
