Has anyone seen south park when they talked about the passion?
I was not intoxicated while I wrote this.

Yes that was pretty funny, though i like Mel Gibson alot, and i read that the passion has already made 4.2 million dollars in dvd sales.

*edit*

I think i may have misread that, just tried to look for it where i said it could be confusing it with the box office earnings.

*another edit*

Ok here it is not 4.2 but 2.4 million.

Volume 1 was all action and setting up the story for the next one. Volume 2 is all story. Originally Kill Bill was suppose to be one film but the studio told Tarantino to split the movie up because it was too long or cut it down.

The point of Kill Bill was to honor 1960 and 1970 Asian movies and shows as well as Sergio Leone's Italian Westerns like The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Volume 1 mostly takes on the Asian aspect while Volume 2 mostly takes on the Italian Western aspect.

The point of Volume 1 was the action and the all the stuff leading up to the climax and the point of Volume 2 is all the story and tying up loose ends going from the climax and to the end.

You should really see Kill Bill Volume 2 before you say you didn't like it. Volume 2 opens up the story and explains why things are happening. It still has some action but not as much as the first one and not as bloody as it takes on the Italian Western aspect.

Cant wait till Kill Bill 3 *hiya*
That would have been one hella long movie.
David Carradine and Uma Therman fit the roles perfectly too.

I'm sure I'll get lynched for this:

Unless you're religious or love seeing gruesome death penalties take place, I wouldn't buy it.

I just watched it two nights ago and aside of the fact it was nearly as bloody as braveheart in some small cases I thought it sucked. (Maybe thats just because I can't grasp the idea of Christ...but thats just me...*Whistles and wanders off.*

As a Christian, I can say I have no desire at all to see the Passion of the Jesus (or, as they call it, the Jesus Chainsaw Massacre).

Watching two hours of gruesome torture isn't my idea of fun, or even of anything profound.

I ducked out of it when my Catholic ex-girlfriend all but begged me to take her to see it. Not much of a date movie, I figured. Not much of a popcorn movie.

Why pay to watch the Count of Monte Jesus get flayed on the big screen?

My parents got the DVD a few days before I came back to school and I didn't watch it.

I'm pretty proud of myself.
South Park's Passion of the Jew is pretty funny, though.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.

I'd have to say Dog Soldiers, although a lot of the dialogue/humour might be lost on non UK residents. I've read comments from Americans saying that it took several viewings to understand.

And I'm right there with rklenseth, Firefly is awesome, Serenity will rock! 8)

I don't know why anyone would say it was hard to understand, but I thought it was pretty cool, I loved the tatoo story

Had the movie conversation at lunch today. My top 5 right now would be ...

Napoleon Dynamite -- their timing is beautiful

Best in Show -- A friend mentioned A Mighty Wind and made me think about how good the preceding film in that collection was. (Big fan of Spinal Tap...still need to see Waiting for Guffman

Hi Fidelity -- haven't watched it in a while, but is an amazing glimpse into my life in a parallel universe where I took that record store gig. Also the perfect amount of Jack Black.

The Royal Tennenbaums -- Wes Anderson = 'nuff said

Band of Brothers -- Saw it at the top of the thread and I agree. Got it for my Dad when it came out and he hooked his surround sound. The dog has never been the same since!
