Svensson is the most common surname in Sweden.
It's so common that our version of "average joe" is to be a "svensson"

That is because one is Irish and the other is Scottish. Usually if a name begins with a Mc it is of Irish origins and if it is Mac it is if Scottish origins. At one time or another they might have been one Celtic tribe but then broke up with the Mc going to Ireland and the Macs going to Scotland and from there develop totally different cultures.
