Svensson is the most common surname in Sweden.
It's so common that our version of "average joe" is to be a "svensson" :)

Sounds like a family that eats too many beans.

Goodwin is made up. Great-grandfather Goodwin changed his name to Goodwin since he was the lightweight campion boxer of the north atlantic fleet during WWI.

I think is was Goodone of Goodun or something like that before which was also a made up americanism version. The original name is irish for "Good one" as in "one who is good".

There are "real" Goodwins with real histories both Eurporean-American and Aficican-American.

Sorry for the random titbit, but my grandfather was also the middle weight boxing champ for the English army in WWII... good 'ol Arthur...
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. It is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Only I will remain.

Definitely Kristensen with a K, although that part of the family is from the German island of Amrum. Amrum is part of the Freisen Islands near the coast of Denmark. Many of the island's inhabitants originally came from Denmark.

That is because one is Irish and the other is Scottish. Usually if a name begins with a Mc it is of Irish origins and if it is Mac it is if Scottish origins. At one time or another they might have been one Celtic tribe but then broke up with the Mc going to Ireland and the Macs going to Scotland and from there develop totally different cultures.

Sorry, I have to correct you. You see I am Scottish, and the spelling of my last name is McIntosh. I know generaly it works that way, but for some reason it doesn't in this case. Just thought you'd like to know.

Also some other last names in my family
Carson (My familys in Texas)
Patterson
Hayse
Some are friends of the Wolf.....others are Dinner

Most likely your Irish family came over to Scotland sometime in the past. That has happened as well or vice versa.

I can pretty much guarantee that your family origins are in Ireland with a name like that. How far back can you go?
