((OOC Rant: Cantr style? If that's Cantr style then it's the old days Cantr. If that was going on in this day Cantr then some bastard would indeed complain about everything, like how can keys be made of silver when they're all iron, how can there be leaves when forest is just a solid green area, how come those people haven't been attacked by animals yet and where are all the spawn-and-run thieves. You're living in a fantasy world!!! ...Good for you. End rant.))

Sunni Daez wrote:"Boy..." she exclaims with frustration "what is your problem?

"I know who he was...The dead man in the desert...he was the one who..." His voice trails off and the visions continue to flood his mind. He recalls the cold eyes piercing him, like the cold when he first awoke.

"what dead man? What did he do? You aren't making any sence, boy" She continues walking without breaking her stride, intent on reaching her destination without haste.

He didn't hear what she said, his mind filled with confusion. 'how did he get the ring, why would she have given it to him?' he thought to himself. 'He was an evil man, he hurt and killed so many' The face of the man appeared on the boat..was it his boat? was it the evil mans boat?

The forest gives way to rolling hills, flush with barley ripe for the harvest. Several men work in the fields at either side of the trail. "Food!", he says, "Can I pick and eat some of this?"

"Not without cooking it first. My you are helpless!" She glares at him in annoyace, but some part of her finds some compassion...from deep, deep inside. "Come on, now. Move your ass! You can find food in town."

Despite her continuing attitude, he plods along after her. The developing revelation of his vision continuing to form in the back his mind. He sees himself standing on the deck of the boat, before the man - dark eyes continuing to bear down on him. "So ye think ye'll get me treasure, eh? Hah! It'll be a cold day before ye get tha best o' me!" The man brandishes a sabre, inches from his throat...

"What's your name?" Her voice snaps him back to reality. "I could just call you dumbass, but I'll give you a chance to label yourself out of the goodness of my heart."

OOC: Seko, to make you feel better, I will soon work in the newspawn who awakes and inquires about the exchange rate for iron in the town and can someone please donate rubber to his bike so he can make a map of the island. Our hero will construct a longbow that crumbles to dust before he actually finishes assembling it, and he falls to the ground in exhaustion from a sneeze, obtained from an allergy to the fur required to build a cot. In his prone, helpless state, a rabid rabit bites him in the ass and he dies.

Sorry to ruin the ending for everybody.

"My name is Naomi," Her eyes remain fixed on the trail and the approaching town in the distance. "We will be in Gzojktu by sundown, David. You'll be able to find food there...and maybe some more sensible clothes."

David squints his eyes to make out the rooftops of the distant town. "Gzojktu? That's an unusual name."

Naomi shrugs, "I didn't come up with it. And don't get started on how to pronounce it. Just take care to not do anything stupid while you're there. State your name when people ask, don't grab anything, and don't go in the buildings. If you do anything stupid, I swear I don't know you - got it?"

"Sure. I got it." He sticks his tongue out at her behind her back. What's her problem, I wonder? "So what do you have to pick up for your family, Naomi?"

"None of your business," she snaps. He looks hurt, and she relents a little bit. "Nothing really. Just something our mother needs. That's all."

She turns her head back forward. David peers at her intently.

"Then why are you so edgy all the time?"

She rolls her eyes "you ask to many questions, but if you insist on knowing..." Takes a deep breath "A man came to our village a while back. He and his followers destroyed our village, or at least the life within it. "pauses and looks at him for a moment, a strange look on her face as she again looks at his clothing "He came by water, killed my family and left. Now mind you, my family are those in the village that I have lived with for many years. The one I refer to as Mother, is our leader, she was injured severely....I am trying to obtain the healing food needed to help her and the others"

"Those clothes David...Where did you get them?"

The dark eyes return to the back of his mind as he pictures the skeleton of his clothing's former owner. He can see himself removing the fur coat, the cold night air of the desert ripping through his skin, the skeleton's head cocks to one side with the movement. An eerie hiss emanates from the corpse's mouth, bearing the phrase, "Finish it...", just barely audible to David's cold ear.

He shakes the vision from his mind just as Naomi turns her head to find the reason for his unexpected silence. "Uh...I found them in the cave...near where you ran into me." He smiles weakly. "It looked someone had made their home in there at one point."

Naomi shrugs, with seeming disinterest. "Doesn't look to me like a collection someone would just leave behind in a cave. But what do I know?" She returns her gaze to the path before them. Her brow furrows as she contemplates David's story. He's not telling the truth, I'm sure of it. I've seen that outfit before!
