i was reading the threads on stone knights and Adam brinks and decided to make this post in the rant of the day....

a character named Jack, who lived on shai, once tried to defend Adam claiming that Adam was after a criminal. ( this "criminal" was a town leader in one of the shai towns ). i never did understand what Adams interest in this criminal was. in fact if memory serves me correctly he claimed it was from some town on another continent. which was actually an annoying claim cause it could not be proven and yet people bought this pirates word very easily.....well, only a short few, and it was because of Jack.

anyways. my character James Lionheart sailed with Jack along with Professor Locke. you see, Adam stole our ship, so we had an interest in going with Jack. ( one of our crewman helped Adam so it was an easy steal ). we were planning on how to deal with the situation, which involved getting in contact with the town he claimed the criminal was from. Jack was asleep when the ship hit land and stopped. Locke turned the boat in the correct direction ( we were heading to San D'Oria ) and then Jack comes out and says " I REALLY HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE TOUCH MY SHIP ". he locks us up and kills us......that's it. no other RP but that.

so even common strangers are willing to help Adam..... and something tells me they never did get in contact with the town the so called criminal was from ( uhg if only i remembered the name ). i am pretty sure Jack got to San D'Oria and then a handful of knights went with Jack back to Shai, or maybe to the stone knights to talk to them.

and i had a character on Shai who i used to gather more information. something in my gut told me something was not right about the situation..... i really think Adam lied, and i never found out why he had such an interest in this criminal, and i never understood what Jacks problem was. all i know was i was definitely screwed out of a good character for no reason......my pursuit of knowledge of the situation was likely the cause. we did also plan to alter a ship name to say " WE COME IN PEACE " and dock to Adams ship to talk to him personally.

the sad thing is i can't remember half the things that pissed me off about the situation. just the basics. there is something shady about Adam..... his ability to inspire loyalty in people who don't know him would be one thing i dislike, which cost me a good character.

Well yeah, people use him to threaten others who obviously never heard of him, knowing OOC that the player knows him and will get scared, and then the char will reflect that.

how come some people have the luck of being betrayed while a guy like Adam has the support of an entire clan and no one has ever been successful in plotting against him? he's not immortal.

Well adam's exploits are quite well documented in some areas so this might inspire cooperation in a "if you cant beat them, join them" way...because tbh if I heard in real life of a man who had a force that had wiped out entire cities I'd probably try not to annoy him and do what he wants.

Sounds like you should be mad at the Jack character rather than Adam though, Adam didn't force him to kill your char

indeed. i just don't like how he's so popular for something so pure and simple. he's old, rich and has supporters who are not even part of his crew.....and sometimes also not even part of his life at all.

he is never seen in a town that is not coastal. when he is it's only when he is dragging someone to his ship. other than that he likes hiding on his ship.....in fact hiding is what he's good at. so of course he's lived this long.

maybe if i was able to keep a freakin account up long enough i would stand a chance in backing up a threat of my own. but i can't, and at this point it's gonna be too damn hard to compare to Adams military capability, so i won't even bother.

then again cantr would be boring without Adam. as far as i'm concerned everyone should give up and just let him do what he wants. him and Andre Clancy.

I have a char that would love to bump into Adam, if only she knew of him.. this pirating business is so easy it's hilarious. If only I could share her exploits.. XD

You just have to remember, each char gets 100hp effectively, which is very, very mortal.
