So you say having the skills to rp gives you a permission to cheat? That I could tell my friend on YIM "hey, let's drag Sunni's character on a boat and have our way with her because we can rp it so well"? I doubt you would like that. It would still be unfair.

No, it shouldn't be allowed. But it's done all the same.

What's done is done. Personally, I think we need to have some more people who organize communities and such like. Most of the current "Leaders" are just thugs running one horse towns.

We need more people to be bigger powers. If not Nick, then someone, but why not Nick?

Well... it looks like nomater how I look at it... nick does do some good in the cantr world. He got me to kill my acount, AND I had some fun having my acount alive.

And right now, I have some very prominant caricters in different sociatys. One is a very helpfull guy, dosen't have much political power, but he has the ear of the leader of a local trading thingy. Another Is the oldest person in a new nation(THE OLDEST!!!) but I don't think he has a large amount of political money to through at problems. But he is VERY fun to play, and I think that anyone around him in this sociaty has fun to. HURAY ME!!!

My life I have just read the long Nick thread and decided I no longer wish to play this game... it sounds like he got a rough deal. I know one member of the PD that cheats through IMs or did till recently and before being in the PD she was allowed to charracters in one town by the PD. These characters were intereacting with the same characters and they were IMing me details as well as seeking them from me!




I find this, apparently from Agar, when even discussing places names can get a person a spanking. I am disgusted.

I'm sorry I wasted my time on this game!

Not at all what I said.. Do not twist my words... Cheating is wrong, using OOC is wrong... but he was still a great RPr!! dispite anything he was accused of....

But what if they don't have to?

Jim loves cantr. Jim has played cantr for years. Jim runs a successful town. Because of Jim's love for cantr and his lots of free time, Jim is asked to join PD. Gratified, Jim accepts. After a while, Jim does so well that he's asked to be on the GAC. Jim is happy to help. Jim loves cantr.

Now, maybe Jim's character in this town starts having trouble keeping up. Jim is in a quandary. Jim doesn't want to cheat, but Jim doesn't want to lose control of the town. Jim has the unenviable dilemma of knowing that 1) he could just peek into the database, just to make sure everything's going all right. After all, his detractors could be cheating. and 2), Jim's on GAC as well. In the unlikely event that he gets called out for cheating, what would be the end result? The game can't afford to lose someone as helpful and talented and hardworking as Jim. So what happens? Does Jim take the fall for his mistake, or does he rather either ignore the accusations, argue strenuously for his innocence, knowing that he's popular, respected, and deeply intrenched in both game and administration? Maybe the person who accused him has a not-entirely-clean slate, hmm? Can this be used to Jim's advantage?

Now, I'm not saying this has happened, will ever happen, or is likely to happen.

But what's to stop it from happening? The problem is that the people who are most invested in cantr and have the time and inclination to help out are also the people who are...most invested in cantr. It's gotta be so hard to be a player and a staff member. I've never been able to do both due to lack of time. But I hope I've at least outlined the dilemma.

Well first - I don't know if hard is the word but different can certainly be used - and you lose some of the joy of the game. But I don't see why it is unlikely - they are reports set up to watch our every move and since Chris and especially Marol have joined, we can't burp without someone knowing it. So it more likely than you know that we would be caught if looking at anything inappropriatley.
