Well they actually say its based on a true story which means that it could be true but not quite. See the key word is 'based'. Someone explained that to me once and how that worked and pretty much any movie can claimed to be based on a true story since all stories usually come from a real life situation that happened. And a lot do because it attracts more audiences.

But anyways, that good to hear. Though it could be possible for a Paint horse to beat out a Arabian horse, correct? There is always the possibility and weren't a lot of the wild horses from the Great Plains (the horses that ran away from Cortez's army when he was conquering the Aztecs) pretty damn tough? Plus, you never know. There is always a little bit of truth in a tall tale.

And Pirates - well I had that one on DVD when it was still in the theatre. I'm anxiously awaiting the sequel - they already signed the same names for the cast.

Actually I was referring to the National Lampoons Family Christmas Vacation but what you are looking for is the classic, the Christmas Story. Now that one is a classic and great movie. But I do think they over do it every Christmas. It's on like everyday, on every channel for about the next 20 days and then they show it for 24 hours not on one but three different channels. A little too much but I have seen people watch all 24 hours. Sickening, isn't it?

yeah... that's me. :D I left it on one of my t.v.'s for 24 hours last year, and looking forward to this year! lol. When I got to my aunts house and it was on I said," Why didn't anybody tell me they ran this in a marithon?! "

Chrissy

Its been running as a marathon for many years now. And maybe they didn't tell you for good reasons.

Bootlegger, huh? I never actually get the regional thing for the DVD players. My friend had some DVDs from China and they worked fine on my DVD player which is a region 1 only. So I think the whole region thing for DVD players is a load of bull and a way to keep someone from purchasing it for cheaper in places like China.

And it is good to hear that they are making a sequel. I just hope it is as well made as the first one as most sequels usually decline instead of ascend. It was genius to have Johnny Depp as that Jack Sparrow. He played the role awesomely. I never really thought he was all that good of an actor until I saw him in this movie. He fit the role perfectly.

Supposedly, DVD players have a region so that only DVDs with that region can play on that DVD player with the same region. Like Region 1 is for the US and Canada and so on. If you look at the back of a DVD case or on the DVD itself it should have a symbol of a globe type thingy with a number. If you bought a DVD in the US then most likely it will have a 1 in it. That is a Region 1 DVD and should only be able to play on a Region 1 DVD player or a Universal Region DVD player (which can play all regions of DVDs).

Understand?

Good topic Richard.

I absolutely love Braveheart. My fave!!! Without a doubt its my alllllll time fave!!!! (Yes yes lets not argue about whether or not it was accurate to fit the time period) it was still a excellent movie!!!!

1.) Braveheart
2.)The life of David Gale
3.) The Pianist (If you have not seen this? You should!!!!!!! Its not just about a pianist, but it is a rather long movie. )
4.) Harts War
5.) The Green Mile
6.) Basic
7.) Erin Brokavich (Sp)
8.) Behind Enemy Lines
9.) Gladiator
10.) Men of Honor
11.) A Knights Tale
12.) Full Metal Jacket
13.) Titanic - (Yeah let me have it. It gets old after having watched it a million times and after having heard Celine Dions one song a million more, but I thought it was a fairly good movie. )
13.) Legends of the Fall (has nothing to do with Brad Pitt, I Swear. )
14.) Dances with Wolves
15.) Gone with the Wind
16.) Broken Down Palace
17.) Pearl Harbor
18.) Casualties of War (I hope noone has forgotten this movie. :P)
19.) We were Soldiers
20.) Saving Private Ryan
21.) Interview with the Vampire
22.) Wizard of Oz (?? how can we forget this. ^^)

Etc etc. etc...

I like war like movies. :) (But don't of course, only watch just war movies)I own both Gangs of New York, and Gods and Generals, but have to say I didn't particularly care for either. Guess I'm just stuck on Braveheart.
God I love that movie.!! And Pianist comes as a close second, but i had to put David Gale down as second because after watching it I'm still holding my forehead going "WTF...!!!" LOL

The movie where a boy shoots his eye out...I think is called a Christmas Story. ( TNT back home used to run that movie for 24 hours starting christmas eve, and my little brother and sister would watch it alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll day long LoL) Gotta love it.

I do see it on the back of the Clerks dvd. (thought I'd drop that in as another movie pic of mine) I never even heard of that until now. Thanks for explaining it.

Hehe... Does that friend have "hitler in England" too? found it on the internet with chinese subtitles. Never heard about it before, so i think it has been banned. I have seen most MPFC episodes i think, but not that one.

About that region code on DVD players, the codes became public due to a mistake some time ago, making it legal to make region free players, so maybe they just didnt bother locking that player and just put a region 1 sticker on it.
