You can't say that. Every element is as important as another.

Without Citizens:
- Industrialists can't sell their products.
- Kings can't rule over anyone.
- Businesses won't have any employees.
- And other that I don't feel like naming.

Without Businesses:
- Kings will have no one to buy/tax from.
- Citizens will have no one to work for.
- Industrialists will have no one to supply materials.

You guys get the point. Everyone interacts with others in some way.

what is this about "normal citizens"? what does that mean? most people irl have some ambitions in life. whether they achieve those goals or end up in some crappy dead end job is a completely different matter. having characters without any sort of goals (even if it's just to live a nice peaceful life) is bad rp and also really boring.

So when is there going to be a Industrallist vs. Pirog vs. RKLenseth thread? Now that I'm thinking about it that sounds more and more like a cheesy horror flick to me. :D

Anyways, I don't have much time to debate anymore these days. Too many other things happening in my life now. :(

Who said they shouldn't have dreams or ambitions?
I would say the ambition to have "a nice peaceful life" is shared by most normal citizens.

I think the point we, or at least I, am trying to make is that it is always inspiring to play the hero types, or the power hungry leaders etc, but Cantr would be boring as hell if everyone was a hero.
A dictator needs his loyal subjects that doesn't dare oppose him, the king needs to get his taxed from somewhere etc, but a lot of people don't mind losing a character or playing an "average joe"...and that is a pity.

But it can be just as inspiring to play a simple character, with simple goals, and to actually see them fulfilled. Often I find it more enjoyable to play that than a cometitive, power crazed hero, king, business person or some sort.

I agree, but some people can't seem to drop their urge to be efficient or gain power.

And your point is that he can't drop the urge?

I get the feeling that his personal, rather capitalistic, views seems to get in the way of that, yes...

But this topic wasn't started by me. I have no urge to put him on the spot or anything...it has been what I thought was a rather harmless discussion that have taken place over a few different topics.

No, I just wanted to make that clear to everybody who read it since it is easy to misread what someone says when you can't see their face or hear their voice :)

This is the slowest, longest, drawn out, debate, in the history, of the world... :)

I think they both should just admit they want to be friends and IM each other. It's good to have friends that can stimulate your mind, and it's o.k. to believe in different things. :P
