lol. I'm at the stage in life where I'v been made to go to mass since I can remember, and if I had the choice I wouldn't go. I do believe in God, Jesus and the whole sha-bang. But I don't believe you have to go to mass to show that your a 'good Christian'. I'v seen the passion done at mass, every year of what I can remember, and man is it boring. Hope the film is better than whats attempted in my local church! Starring my mum as the narator, and my annoying little priest as Jesus.

I am Roman Catholic and I did go with a Church group on Monday night (two days before the opening) so I would say that I went to see it for religious purposes. I also think the way it was done, where Gibson made it look real and pulled no punches, makes you see it in a different light rather than reading a book. Reading about Jesus' torture and execution during the last 12 hours of his life is nothing when compared to when you see it.

I didn't know you were a minority RKL. (Catholic)

... you know Bush is anti-catholic in his heart of hearts... you know he has to be... its part of the unspoken Southern Republican party platform...
even though he has some Hispanic in-laws...

I should know... I have republican family (free presbyterians) members in state senate down there... trust me, you could closely follow a campaign and see everything on their public record never know how racist and bigoted some of these politicians are... the media doesn't uncover it all.

Well I didn't know being Catholic was a minority. I do know that Southern Christians hate us Irish/Italian Roman Catholics up here in the north but around here we are definitely the majority. Perhaps down south we are more of a minority. Anyways, we Catholics are having too much fun fighting amongst ourselves. I beginning to think this whole Bishop Hubbard thing is true and to think I had that man touch me before (not in a bad way) during Mass. Looking at him though you would never thing he was a child molester.

Anyhow, Gibson is a Catholic so the "Passion" is coming from a Catholic point of view and comes from Catholic writings. So I thing Catholics will better understand the story as we hear it every year in Church.

Better understand the Catholic version , which talking with various Catholics, doesn't seem to be unified completely . But Catholics are an American Minority. They aren't a numeric minority in southern Maryland either.

The only group that isn't a Minority in America are White Anglo-Saxon Protestant Males. err... WASPS. Everyone one else is more or less slightly or greatly disenfranchised to some degree. Even some of the Protestant sects are minorities.

The term minority is not attached to numbers in this case either... for instance South African blacks used to be a minority... despite there huge numeric majority over the whites.

This is kind of sad...this topic so far. Talking about finding out hidden things about the president, and trying to make him look bad. Slightly dissing other religions. Man...you guys are terrible.....And about the Passion.....I haven't seen it yet, but I heard some talking, and it probably doesn't even show why Jesus was it so much agony...truly, he was in more agony because of what he was doing, the sin he was taking on, the sadness at the people doing this in the first place.

wooshk.

I'm a non-denominational christian. My girlfriend's an italian catholic.

I jokingly make fun of catholics to her all the time, but she knows me well enough to know I don't mean it.

I hope.

Hey Japan Fight Twins: (that's tn2 and jake) Sixpence None the Richer just broke up. Innit sad?

I'm not "dissing" anyone's religion. I have family and friends that are Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Muslim, and Jewish.

Catholics, Orthodox, and Muslims are the best... better Architecture than the others

err... wait shouldn't I think about this based on theology? lol

Am I going to see this movie?

No.

I don't like horror films.

Even if they are attempts to recount real world happenings.
