Calling it "recycling" doesn't change the fact that it's rude and could be discouraging to a new poster.

If I'd had one of my first topics hijacked like this when I first started looking at the forums, I'd have been mortified and offended (mostly just mortified) and would've never posted again (maybe that would've been a good thing..). Listing the other posts that such a topic is already covered in is fine (it's redirection), but to continually devalue an attempt to contribute to the forums by posting increasingly trivial things in it is just rude.

I mean, the cats are adorable, but still...
